A brand new start

Girls, so sorry I haven't posted in a while. We just got back in town from DH's graduation. He received his Masters of Divinity. He is now a pastor. I guess that makes me a pastor's wife! (I was teasing him that after 4 years of seminary all he gets is a tassle!) Anyway, I am so proud!

Thanks, Ladies! He may be the one walking, but I am the proud one! His first call is to a small congregation in South Carolina. I don't mind where we are moving to, I just want to avoid moving! The stress of the move (we have stuff to move from here and from Indiana) and the stress of house hunting is about to do me in. (Holding tight with the weightloss, though. (fingers crossed)
In fact, just this morning I told hubby that he could move to SC, but I would just stay here and live with the next vicar. :)
(A vicar is a pastor-intern. The church we are at gets a new vicar every year.)
I miss posting often. You guys have come to be an important part of my day!

Scrappy,..I know how you feel about change and moving.

You know that there is a hand over you at all times,..so breathe easy and what will be will be. As long as you are together with your love , any house will become a home. Take your awesome sense of humour and take advantage of it. When people offer to help take them up on it, and look at this as a new adventure.
Whether everything goes smoothly really does not matter in the long run, the bumps and bruises in life make us stronger and wiser.

It will all work out,....really it will.

Ah, Jennifer, but you are assuming I'm "together with my love." All this stress makes me want to ship him off to Timbuktu!!! I was felling like punching him in the nose when I got online. I wound up looking up old emails. There was a little love poem he wrote me months ago and I guess I do love him. :) But I'm not telling him that! ;)

Hey, Buddies,
On the weekend we drove to South Carolina and bought ourselves a house! Oiy, this is such great news! A huge stress has been lifted! And it is a wonderful house. I simply can't wait to get my furniture and my house together!
Anyway, now that the stress of getting a roof over my head is gone I feel a little more able to focus on myself and my weight loss. I jumped on the scale this morning and I'm still holding at 177. Not bad considering all the junk eating and lack of exercise and water. Today I've had water and last night I actually fired up the walking dvd. I feel myself pulling it back together.

Good for you ! Its so hard when you go thru so many changes and have so much stress to stay focused...but at least you are keeping yourself and your health foremost on your mind...that is whats important..and to never ever give up!
Congrats on the house by the way... I know how good that feels... We've been in ours now for 2 yrs and every day i drive in, I smile and Im so thankful

Grats on the new house, we're currently looking forward to buy our first home and I simply CANNOT wait!!

How wonderful you must feel. :)

Water is my bane too....I keep promising to drink more, the Crystal Light stuff helps a lot (thanks Stoptheexcuses) :)

MicheleK, Ooh, it is exciting! Good luck on the house hunting when it comes!
June 1 was my birthday. So, yesterday a few of my closest friends met at a hotel at a half-way point. We shopped (3 hours just at Target!!), ate, scrapbooked, and TALKED until the wee hours of the morning. It was my fantasy come true. :)
It was great to just be out with the girls. It was great to be able to do the "girl" things, especially since we have 12 kids between the four of us and since it was just us we could actually finish a thought, shop for bras, eat HOT food, drink an "adult beverage."
I went a little overboard with the snacking! My brother sent up a huge bowl of his now-world-famous salsa and trust me, the chips were just a vehicle to get more of that salsa into my mouth! So, I had a hard time "fitting" back into the routine today (hahaha!), but I did manage to get in a 20 minute walk this evening.
Tomorrow my goal is to fit in a longer walk and to really concentrate on healthy eating and water drinking.
