A brand new start

getting out and walking is great! It's so fun when you can go out with the family. I love it when we all to the park and walk around the pond. Great way to sneak in the exercise without thinking about it!

Thanks, Funnkymonk!

Thanks, girls. You are right. An occasional snack or treat is not what defines our food intake. I've got to work on drinking more water.
A flushing we will go, a flushing we will go...

I dropped Aaron off at school and put the other boys in the nursery so I could go to Bible class and mid-week Lenten service. Then I picked up the two younger boys and went to the grocery store to get brownie mix so I could make up some brownies for tonight's dinner. Bought subs and went back to hubby's office to surprise him with lunch. He was out making hospital calls so the boys and I came home and had a carpet picnic. Picked Aaron up from school. Came home and made a pot of chili and a pan of brownies for the Lenten supper at church. After Sam's nap we went back over to the church and helped with the dinner. (The meal was "Mixed-up Chili." This is where lots of people bring in a pot of chili and add it to the big pot. "Mixed-up chili" sounds a whole lot better than "Dump Chili." :) Truthfully, it was pretty good. I knew if nobody did anything "weird" to thier pot of chili, it would be fine.) The boys and I came home at about 7:30.Phew, too tired to walk a block, much less, a mile or two!

Today's food

Special K blueberry breakfast bar
water

1/2 philly steak and cheese sub (whole wheat bread, roast beef, provolone, onions, mushrooms, green peppers)
pickles
sun chips
diet coke

chili (cheddar cheese)
2 corn muffins
brownie
diet cherry pepsi
1/2 cup of Hawaiian punch

need more water!

Thanks for checking in on me, Melshellibel and 2cute. It was a busy day. You will have to try mixed up chili. Unless, you have a reputation for a killer pot of chili, and then I'd rather have that.

strawberries
cranberry crunch cereal

100 pack of Oreo thins
animal crackers
water

I had serious carb cravings and I tried to curb them with low calorie choices, but the craving was pretty intense. When I ate chili for lunch (high protein) the cravings for crackers and cookies went away.

Hey, Fuunky and Jennifer!

I teach 3 year old preschool. The kids are there from 8:15-1:30, and I work until 4. I work two days a week. Most of my teaching career has been in kindergarten, but I do have lots of preschool experience. Having said that, 3 year olds are a little different, a little "out of my box." It is a good group of kids, albeit wiggly with a few defiant ones. Overall, it has been a good balance of working mommy versus stay at home mommy.

I'm loving my long layers. For years I have teased that I had the same haircut as most of my students- hair straight with some bangs. At least I've left the "hair pretties" for the kiddos! I've had my hair highlighted, but for right now that is a financial luxury that I am doing without. A few more months and I may be able to "indulge."

Gotta fix breaky for the kids!

Evening, Dieting Buddies!
I have a question of you fellow forum-ers that either started around the same time I did (end of the year) or for those of you that have been at this for at least 10 weeks.
So, here is the question? Is the "honeymoon" over?

During this week I have found it a bit harder to stick to my new and improved eating habits. Yes, I am making better choices (more veggies, more water, less unhealthy snacks) and I am still doing my exercises, but the truth is that the bad choices are making a small re-entry. For instance, this evening I ate a few handfuls of M&M's. I know that a mouthful of M&M's does not spell disaster, but 6 weeks ago I would not have eaten them. Is it that I am just bringing back a little more of a "real" standard (because I understand this is a new lifestyle that I am building) or is this the beginning of my demise?

I don't feel as though I have fallen off the wagon, but I do feel like I may be slowly slipping.

Please advise!

Hmm, maybe you need to treat yourself to a dinner where you don't worry about the diet and indulge. Go out with your husband. Hopefully a little freedom would get rid of your dieting blues and would recharge your zest for a healthy lifestyle. I've been at it for about 8 weeks and I haven't been feeling the need to cheat-I think it's because I get those WW ice creams-they control my craving for chocolate and sweets without the guilt. Also, you might just be jonesing for those M&M's if it's around that time of the month, in which case, have some! Just control your portions. :)
