A boy gone astray.

From 185 pounds as a high school athlete to 280 pounds at just 24 years of age. I don't know how it got this far but it stops today. I will diary my progress and post pictures of my before very soon. Pictures of results will be posted as necessary.

I'm not going to use any gimmick diets. Just hard work and healthy eating. My biggest problem has been soda. But I've already dropped that habit the last two weeks and replaced it with 4-5 bottles of water per day.

I'll be eating a lot of salad and chicken as well as 3 protein shakes per day to supplement muscle growth and augment fat burn.

Here goes!!

Starting weight: 280lbs

Goal weight: 210lbs (this includes about a 10 pound gain in muscle mass)

Current weight: 270lbs

I guess the first thing to say is pay attention to how many calories those protien shakes contain. It's easy to kinda forget those things are pretty calorie dense and that will add to your weight if you aren't careful.

It's ok. I'm a weight loss machine when I put my mind to it. I just lost 3 pounds typing this reply.

Well, I have before pictures ready to go, but it won't let me add them to the thread. Maybe I need a certain number of posts first? Seems odd given the type of forum this is.

Day 1

Wake up - Protein shake. Vitamin D supplement and a daily men's vitamin.

Breakfast - Banana, 500ml water.

Snack - small box of raisins, 500ml of water.

Lunch - Spinach Salad, 1 litre of Water

Snack - Fruit Source bar.

Dinner - Pasta with Red peppers, zucchini, tomato based sauce and a few other random veggies. 1 litre of water.

Now I'm sitting comfortably at home with more energy than I've had in months. This Vitamin D stuff is really doing wonders for energy levels. I'm down 10 pounds since I weighed myself as 280 a week and a half ago. Cutting out soda and replacing it with water really doing the trick. Obviously not 10 pounds of fat. The water has just flushed all the crap out of my system.
