As some of you know, I'm 14, about 5'6" and I weight about 188. I want to get down to at least 170-160 by mid-May and eventually around 150. I really think this time I'm actually going to lose the weight! I basically want to because A)I'd look better B)Clothes would fit me better and C)Then I could horseback ride more effectively. So I guess I should tell you guys my plan! I've been drinking about 6-9 glasses of water a day and exercising on the stationary bike and occasionally on the "Ab-Lounger". I found a great website () where I can track my weight loss, calories and exercise each day! Anyways today according to the website I've eaten 1004 calories..So far I have rode 8 miles on the bike (I do about 3 or so whenever I'm bored or just want to) but I want to do about 15. I really hope the weight comes off fast and easily!

Today I weight 187! I was hoping to lose more after all the exercise , but I guess more than a pound a day is unrealistic!

Yes, a pound a day is totally unrealistic. You'd have to starve yourself - literally - to do that at your weight. And then you would be taking of lean body mass, not fat.

Did you ever look at the body of an anorexic? They're skinny, sure, but they're also flabby. That's because when you get in the starvation mode, your body preserves ALL your fat and gets its fuel from your lean muscle mass.

So keep losing weight the healthy way, and you'll get to your target, but with strength instead of weakness.

By the way, I believe 1,000 calories is too low for you, too.

Glad your here w/ us! Just wanted to give my 2 cents on a few things...I'm curious as to how many cals your getting in per day? I see you wrote that you've had about 1000 cals so far, i don't know what that means b/c I dont' know what time of day it is for you....BUT you should aim for about 1400,1500 cals (i have 1200 but i'm not excersizing as much as you).

Another thing is I see you wrote "i hope this weight comes off fast and easy" I hate to say it, but thats just not the way weight loss works. It can be very rewarding at times and frusterating at times. It is never easy or fast...I'm not trying to burst your bubble!! Dont' get me wrong...I just want you to be realistic and I dont' want you to give up when you realize that weight loss takes time and work. Give it a go, do the best you can do everyday and let your body shed the pounds at its own speed. Know that you will have set backs, your weight loss will stall sometime or another, but keep at it! Slow and steady wins the race! When you look in the mirror at your skinny self you will remember all the work you put into this hot body and you will be so proud of yourself!!

Oh, and I wanted to throw in there, that a healthy weight loss is 1 or 2 pds a week...thats it, ok? so remember, its going to take time, but you'll get there!

Don't worry, by the end of the day I had eaten around 1,300, I know too little but I'll work on it!

Oh, and don't think I'm aiming to be super skinny..I agree..disgusting..

Just reminding you..I was just hoping =) I know..unrealistic and unhealthy to lose more than 2 pounds each week,

Welcome and goodluck to you! I am currently 187 and I eat
around 1200 calories a day but I get alot of food for that 1200 I eat 3
meals and 2-3 snacks ,I drink between 90-128 ozs a water a day I actually
love water.I would reccomend atleast eating 1200 calories a day and i still
hear that 1200 is too low but I am not starving and it has worked for me so
far.Have a nice night Tammy:)
 
I finally rode 15 miles on the stationary bike! After slowly building up throughout the week today felt like nothing! I've eaten 1600 calories today =/ at least the bike made up for it. The weight hasn't changed over the past three days..oh well..I'll just keep trying!
 
Hi megan. Im 14 too, but im male. i weight 185 pounds and my mini goal is 170 before the summer time. good luck and i will be supporting you.:) :)
 
It's been three days...no change in weight. Not even half a pound. What foods are best for losing weight? Vegetables? Fruits? Protein?
