Hey challenge friends, here are the teams so far. I will randomly assign the rest by tomorrow morning (I will divide up very new members since they often dont ever come back to the site after a few posts). What do we do if people drop out to keep the teams even in number at the start?

Claudia, first of all, thanks for putting this together. Looks like a lot of us have had a fire started under our boo-tays. I cannot volunteer at this time to be team captain as I am in year-end close at work and will be slammed for the next week or so...I wouldn't be able to stay on top of the administrative aspect of it. A lot of details still need to be worked out and I'm assuming the captains would need to be pinging people to get them to list out their points/weight each week. At this time I cannot commit to that but would be available to help further after I get through close.

If people drop out during the challenge I say that we remove all their points from the challenge to keep it fair. However, if there is a huge discrepancy between # of members on each team at the end of the challenge we may have to do a % of points earned as our benchmark for winning team. Does that make sense? If Team 1 ends up with 15 members and Team 2 has 3 members doing total points doesn't necessarily make sense.

That's my 2 cents for now.

Go TEAM 1!! OUUUUU!!!

MALES: Please identify yourselves (unless you have a pic up, in which case its self-evident) so I can split up males evenly among the 2 teams.

Team 2 captain, will you be able to email me your spreadsheet for calculating out total points per member per team? I will then switch up the names and use that to calculate Team 1's total points each week.

I have a GENIUS idea that will revolutionalize tracking points/weights for challenges. LOL I work at Google and I just realized we have a feature where we can create an excel-like file and share it with everyone. That way we can have each individual team member access the file and enter in their own weight and points and we could see everyone else's info too on a real time basis. It was take the administrative burden off of the Captains. They could focus on enforcing deadlines and being cheerleaders instead!

If someone can create the excel file and gather up everyone's personal email address I can load it or if you have a gmail account you can load it yourself and add everyone to the file via personal email. Then we could sit back and relax. I would likely add my points daily or every other day so I don't forget.

Remember, anyone with a gmail address can create this Google document. You don't have to be a gmail user though to access the file to enter in your points/weight.

LOL, somehow I already knew you were a male, despite your having this "feminine side". Funny thing is, if men out there on the net found out how men can get all the juicy dirt and hang with women online they'd be flocking to this site LOL. SMART.

I think it's a great idea. With as many people in this challenge, it could be way easier to have people add their own points.

After you create the file and upload it to Google docs you can then "share" the file with others by adding in their personal email addresses. Then the individual team members will receive an email stating they have been added to the document and there will be a hyperlink that they click on that will take them straight to the file. I would suggest we have people bookmark the link to the file so they can return often without having to search for the original email.

You can also create the file directly in Google docs but I prefer to create it in excel and then upload to google docs...

This process would be so easy for people to go in and add their points in. We just need to design the file so that it is dummy proof and people know where to enter in their weight/points, etc. Make sense?

With this many people in the challenge it would save the Captains HOURS of admin work...
