I'm In. The fall semester starts on Monday as well and I'm going to need the motivation.....I'm in, I'm in, I'm so in.

Awesome williamsb. I think we have a great group with lots of support :)

Help, help, help.

I'm really, REALLY mad right now. Last Wednesday I weighed in at 195 (yeah), since then I've weighed in at the dreaded 197 (boo). This is my evil number...I know everyone thinks it 666 but for me its 197. I have been exercising my butt off (well, I guess not literally) and have definately burned off more calories than I've eaten....so WHY WHY WHY am I gaining weight? Why, no matter what I freakin' do is that scale glued to the freakin' evil number 197. UGH!!! I'm mad, frustrated, annoyed, p-oed...you name it.

Katie-What type of excercising have you been doing? If you've been doing anything that might be making you gain muscle mass then that would explain the weight gain, but I don't think that would be the reason if you've been burning more calories then you've been eating because to gain muscle mass you have to eat more calories than you burn (sorry for people who already know this and i'm just rambling for no reason...since most of you probably do).
Either way, try not to worry about it alot, if you dread the outcome everytime you get on the scale then it stresses you out and the stress can actually cause you to gain or keep on weight. Don't worry, you'll get past that evil number soon enough : )

Good Luck!

p.s. i'll be sure to post my weight and my goal on Monday also = )

I think everyone should make it a goal to only weigh themselves once a week. So many get stressed about the scale moving a quarter of a pound from one day to the next. Obsessing about it isn't helping at all!:(

Just a thought...

^ That's a very good idea. Just wondering, does it have to be Monday? I find it better weighing in on Friday's BUT if it's better to have us all weigh in Monday's then I'll switch:) No Biggie!

Kaitie- Have you tried measuring yourself? When something like this happens due to muscle mass, it may not show up on the scales but it'll show up in inches! :)

I agree with dariqueen. We should try and only weigh in once a week to move our tickers. When you weigh yourself every day it does add a lot of stress. Plus...it's funner to get on the scale once a week and see that you lost 3 pounds instead of one pound at a time. Kaitie, dont get down on yourself! You've been doing everything right and it will come off :) Be patient and keep truckin'. Kino, you can weigh in on friday if that's what works best for you! Everyone, post your weights so I can document them as we go.

I'm probably different from most people, but I do weigh myself everyday, and it does not seem to bother me. There are 2 reasons for daily weighings: 1st, if I don't loose anything in a week (I'm a slow looser, 1lb per month kind of thing, so that is very likely) it will make me feel bad because I won't feel any progress in a week, and it seems like a bad thing. But when I weigh in every day, I'm not expecting to loose weight from day to day, and when weight loss does happen, its like chrismas all over again. And, my second reason is that I'm afraid I'll gain weight in a week and instead of knowing right away about it, I'll loose some time and won't find out until more damage is done. Of course I'll play by the rules and will just report my Monday's weight.

You can count me in as well. This works well as I was planning on busting my butt to see how much I can lose by the end of September - excellent timing.

Let's see...I'll take 2lbs per week x 6 weeks = 12lbs by Oct 2nd. And can I get an order of fries and a small diet coke with that too? hehehe....sorry...

Count me in!!!!! I have been gone for days and I know I have gianed some pounds back. I really need the support and I miss al my buddies. So'll I'll see ya'll Monday bright and early. :D

I'm looking forward to this - this is the first time for me that I've done something like this.

These challenges are great motivational tools for us all. Let's all go get some great results!

Me too! One of my favorite vegetables. And my 4 year old likes it too.

I actually really like vegetables and fruits, which makes eating well easier, but it's still a challenge.
