IF YOU HAVE SIMILAR INTERESTS PLEASE JOIN, the weight and big goal doesn't need the same but I would love if even one person did this challenge with me (be in lose 20 pounds or 100 pounds and run/walk/bike/workout at all). I feel that motivation is the key and having someone there with me (and I will be there for you too IS KEY!)

I have tried ot lose weight and keep it off, but it comes back becuase I haven't changed my lifestyle (even though I thought I have). I have made a goal to lose 50 pounds and run a marathon (complete, not win) in six months. I know I can do this an have already started! My goal for the next month is to walk one mile in the morning, one mile at night, and run one mile on the weekends. Along with that I will do crunches daily and start lunges and pushups. I know this doesn't sound like a hard workout but I am busy from 7:30am to 9:30pm so I have limited time but fit it in! I also want to start eating healthier, less meals and even with this save some money from going out.

This week I have so far:
Monday - walked 1 mile AM and 1 mile PM
Tuesday - walked 1 mile AM and 1 mile PM
Wednesday - walked 1 mile AM and 1 mile PM
Thursday - walked 1 mile AM and walked/jogged 1 mile PM + 50 crunches
Friday (so far) - walked/jogged 1 mile AM + 100 crunches

My short term goal (one month) is to be able to run 1 mile in 8 minutes which is huge for me.

My current weight is 170 pounds and in one month I would like to be at 162 pounds.

My long term goal (as above) is finish a full marathon (26.2 miles - running not walking mostly) and lose 50 pounds (if I get to a point where I feel I am getting too thin I WILL STOP - the weight is just a healthy weight for me especially if I am running).

Join please!

I do hope someone would like to join in this challenge!

Friday afternoon I walked/ran 1 mile
Saturday morning walked 1 mile (with dog - so it was a mess but still went out and did it!)

Will keep updating...

On Saturday I was lazy and didn't do my mile at night.
On Sunday I walked one mile with my pupster.
Today I walked my dog one mile and walked/ran one mile plus 100 crunches
Tonight I walked my dog one mile.

Eating is not going all that great and I don't think I've lost anything, but I feel a lot better working out even if it is just a little it is a start

ah alas my knees cant take a marathon, I am trying to work up to 3 miles 3 days a week and that is pushing it for them. Just thought I would throw in some encouragement. Also if you google 'couch to 5k' it will give you a good place to start on running and then you can continue to find additional resources and progress from there.

6 months with not being able to run a 5k yet is a very steep goal but I know you can do it, also, dont worry about the speed just plug away at the time, increase by a few minutes as you go. Once you get accustomed to running the speed will come.

Thank you so much for your encouragement! I have been pretty down this last week since I have sprained my ankle. But I know I should continue to do other things like pushups and crunches to keep my energy level up - I have to get back out there! I am running the 5K at the end of november so hopefully I will be ready (AND HEALED) :)
thank you!

What marathon are you training for?

and have you looked for any running groups in your area that youc ould join and help with the training (there are a bunch of charity groups, that also do marathon training for a promise to raise xxx amount of money - you're getting yourself into shape for a great cause)
