Okay here goes...closest thing to a 'before' I have. This is while visiting a friend in AZ in 4/07. It's about a month after I started dieting, likely in the 520-ish range if I had to guess:



IIRC that's a 5XL shirt and (I think) a 60" waist on the pants.

And these are from the beginning of April 2009 while on vacation in Vegas...I'm just under 250 in them:





Those pics are wearing an XL shirt and 36" waist on the jeans and 38's on the camo pants (the 38's are getting a bit big)

I don't think I'd qualify these as 'after' just yet but I'm getting close! :D

My wife...and she's been working on it. She's been doing the elliptical on a regular basis and has been cutting a few things out of her diet (reg soda, etc).

What was your method?

Nothing really special...diet and exercise. Hit the gym 5 days a week for 1.5hrs of cardio and a bit of weight training. Up until this point the weights mostly been to try and keep as much muscle mass as possible...now I plan on ramping down the cardio some and doing more weight training as I increase my caloric intake. M-F I've traditionally been pretty restrictive on calories (much lower than some would like). I've closely monitored the loss and my exercise intensity and upped my calories as needed. Currently sitting at about 244 and usually at 1500-1700 cals/day but have been increasing for the past 2 weeks getting closer to a maintenance level. Ideally I'd like to see around 225 but I don't know if that's a good number considering that I'm getting fairly lean save for the excess skin that I'm stuck with.

Holy crap dude! That's freaking awesome! I was in the 500s myself, so that's hugely inspirational for me. Congratulations!
