53 Pounds Down

Went to a recreational center. I wanted to lose more weight before I started lifting myself because I didn't want to be huge as I already was. I thought it'd be a better idea to slim down and then start adding the weight training.

Like I said the only real, muscle-building exercise I do now is lots of push-ups.

Your not going to get "huge". People who get huge want to get huge; they got a whole system planned out for it. right now is the perfect time for you to start lifting weights. Lift lighter but do more reps

I understand that. My wording was off but I thought it might be difficult to see the pounds peel off if I was gaining a lot of muscle. You said yourself NOW, 53 pounds later, is the perfect time.

Thanks for all the help.

You should start resistance training ASAP. You'll gain LBM, which will up your basal metabolic rate. The only problem is that after you start lifting, you'll get hungrier. Just stick with your eating plan, except make sure you're getting at least 1g good protein per kilo of LBM. Really, trust me, lifting will multiply your fat loss efforts if you don't go off the deep end with the food.

You look absolutely awesome!! Congratulations!! Keep up the good work.

I can tell you, that when I started seriously losing weight, I worked out my arms with simple 10 pound dumbells. I started off doing 2 reps of 10, but can now easily do 100. Even if you start out small, I guarantee you it's well worth it.

You seem to know things BigFatLoser, so can I ask you a question? In the past month I seem to have gotten alot hungrier than in the past. I'm rather certian this could be attributed to my lifting/running, ergo builing LBM. Because I'm hungrier than I use to be, should I start eating more? Or should I remain on my food plan and perhaps drink a protein shake?

Great Job Man! Like others said, lifting sooner than later is a great idea, but continue to do what is working and keeping you motivated. If you're motivated by the weight coming off, then keep at it.
