I am at 180LBS and I am 5'4". According to the body mass/fat calculators, I am between 28 and 32% body fat. I have a 44 in waist and I carry most of my wieght in the middle. I have been working out at the gym for about a month now with no results, other than gaining 10 pounds. I don't think I get enough cardio and I am sure that I am not working all of the muscles.
I usually walk on the treadmill for a mile or two then work all of the stationary machines. I have used a couple of cables, but I am honestly clueless as to what I really need to be doing.
I did switch up to cardio on mwf and muscles training on t-th-sat. I felt that I could do more, so I added weight. I have increased the weight that I started with and still feel like I am not doing enough. I don't want to do too much.
I started with 30lbs with all upper body, I am at 70 with most of them now. Some are still around 50.
Lower, I started with 50 and on the leg curls ( I hate curls) I am only at 70, but the leg press is up to 120-150.
My regular heart rate is around 68 to 70. I have hypothyroidism and I am very weak after every workout and will sleep for several hours.
I really thought I was doing good and still may be doing better, but I am not "seeing" it or feeling it.
What I want is to shed this fat fast and get a lot of definition to my muscles.
My eating habits are not so great. I will eat the 6 small meals one day and then the next, I'll eat two large meals or a snack during the day and a large meal in the late afternoon.
We HAVE to Exercise and we HAVE to make time for it in order to gain control over our health and I have made that choice. I need to know how to do it and do it right.
I have been checking out some of the suggestions that you all have made to others on this board and I like them, and I would like one that has every single muscle being worked in the body with suggested weight and reps for someone like me.
My eating, I will get that under control. I have to or this is all for nothing.
I need a great cardio plan. I thought I would try walking (I hate running, but will) and I tried jogging for 60 seconds, running for 15, jog for 15 secs and then walk for 60 seconds and then repeat. Heard that was the fastest way to lose fat. What do you all think?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.
God bless you.
