50 Pounds to Subaru Journal

Hey again,

I've never seen deathnote or saiyuki before. I love full metal alchemist and also full metal panic. (My bf bought FMP for my b-day last year, woo!) I own a bunch more, like Sailor Moon (but only the first two seasons so far). I watched some of Naruto which I really liked but I only got up to bout 30. I do want to see more of it. Man.. there's so much anime out there, I don't know where to begin.

It does really suck when you try so hard and the scale goes up. But you never know you could be putting on muscle! Do you measure yourself, or have someone like a family member or friend measure you? If not, I think it would be a good idea to. I get my mom to measure me every 10 pounds I lose. It's a really good way to see the results too. And besides when you see that you've lost how many every inches it helps to motivate as well. At least it does for me. When I let to 165 I'll need to get another measurement done, I'm so excited for that!

Anyways, keep up the good work!

You're doing more than just hanging in there. Reassessing, taking time, and returning to your good habits. Of which you have many.

You love jogging and working out and you're down how many pounds in this effort? 35?

Good luck on planning the next phase of your workout. You'll find something that will work. And forget set points. I'm working on my own "notion" of not being able to get below 190 and I was 188 today, so I know its possible.

Keep up the good work.

Went up again today. That sucks.

But, the laws of thermodynamics say that it can't stay that way forever.

I may think of giving the scale a break for a while. I'm not sure if i can have the willpower to just not look but it may do me some good.

I STARTED! I've never been so happy to get a visit from TOM. Not only does this explain why I've been gaining when I've done so well, but it means I won't get a TOM visit during the convention!

WOOHOO!

Thank god!!! I am waiting for that too but it will be here next week. Glad you feel better and the convention is safe;) he he he hope your having a good day today!

I ate too much yesterday. Trying to be good today :)

It's raining here pretty hard. I'm kind of nervous about driving to school in an hour :-X Wish me luck!

Don't feel bad, you aren't the only one who ate too much yesterday (me and chinese buffet = very bad) lol. So I've been good today as well ;)

I hope your driving to school and school itself went well!

If you don't mind, I'm just curious about what kinda stuff you do for exercise. We're almost the same weight so I wouldn't mind some fresh ideas from someone who's at where I'm at. If you don't want to though, it's fine!

WOOHOO! 176.4 today! I broke the 177 barrier!

For exercise I usually do about an hour a day either walking or on the elliptical, then light resistance training every other day.

Right now I'm working on training for the half marathon so I've been doing a lot more walking than elliptical...uh...ellipticaling?

I got home from school last night to find the wall of my bedroom soaking wet from the ceiling to floor. I had told my apartment folks like 6 months ago that the rain was coming in a bit - but they insisted that it was just the paint peeling so they came and painted over it. Now they have a bunch of water damage. HA!

OMG I can't believe the water damage! and even more incrediable is the 177 barrior!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is wonderful! Have a great weekend!!!:)

TomO has a great post about water here: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/nutrition/10489-completely-confused-nutrition.html#post216548

Just thought I'd quote it. People feel so strongly about water for some reason, but it just can't be true that we're always dehydrated without knowing it. And it can't be that diet soda doesn't count: I can very honestly tell you that I have been able to go multiple years without real plain water ever touching my lips. If soda provided no water I would have crumpled into a dust pile around age 20.

I drink water now but nowhere near what they say I should and I just refuse to feel guilty for it.

Sorry to hear about the water damage. That really sucks, but you tried to warn them!

Congrats on breaking your barrier, that's so awesome! Good luck, and keep it going!

BTW -1- the water post was very interesing, thanks for quoting it.
-2- when's your convention? I'm so jealous!

LOL, I'm so funny. I constantly say "I'm getting back on track!" which lasts until about the next weekend. This weekend being on the rag combined with other factors to leave me with an incredible cinnamon roll jones.

I went to the store and found the pre-made dough cinnamon rolls that were only 150 each. 8 in the pack. I told myself I'd only eat one. I ate 7 that night. The next for breakfast the next morning....then I went back to the store and got a different kind with 6 in the pack and ate 4 of those.

Oops.

Whaddaya know, back up to 178.4 :-/ But hey, at least I'm hovering around the same weight. Now I know what maintenance will feel like.

I went back to the store yesterday and got fruit and salad fixings which I really loved about 6 months ago and burnt out on. I think it's time to get back on the fruit/salad bandwagon.

I was thinking this morning that really - i went Sept-November well on the diet, then destroyed December. Now I did Jan-early march well, and destroyed the end of march. It's time for another month like September or January!

Oh yah! And I meant to celebrate spring by mentioning the abundance of fruit in the grocery store. That helps a ton! Yay strawberries!

Man, making me want cinnamon buns! EVIL! lol... I can't blame you for eating a bunch of them, I mean if your eating healthy, and then all of a sudden there's such yummy so bad for you but again yummy stuff in your face, it's hard to say no. That's why I don't buy it, cause if I buy it, I'm gonna eat it. It's easier (I find) to resist buying it to begin with, that trying to limit myself when I do have it. An idea might be, if you're really craving a cinnamon bun and you know you're gonn buy it no matter what, just go to a place that sells them individually and just get one. That way you still get it, and you can't be tempted by the other 7 in the package ;)

One day you'll break your plateau! Some can just last forever it seems, but hey, maintaining is better than gaining! Besides, you can vary on weight by a few pounds depending, so don't worry too much, just keep to the healthy eating and exercise and you'll do great! YOU CAN DO IT!

I went back and forth on the individual cinnamon roll thing. The ones that you get individually are like 500 calories a piece, but oh so delicious. I kind of figured I could stop before eating more than half the tube of grocery store ones, but oh how wrong I was. Now I know I guess :)

I was really good yesterday. Fruit for a snack rather than prepackaged stuff like goldfish or 100 calorie packs. It still shocks me how good strawberries are for so few calories. I'm glad they're affordable again.

I left work a few minutes early and hiked a little mountain near my apartment. I didn't even realize it was so close until I was browsing Google Maps. It was a nice hour or so long hike and it was hard but doable. A couple of times I thought I might have to turn around before making it to the top, but I did just fine and the trip down went well.

I have 9 days to the convention. :-/. And - only 2 of those are days I'll really be able to get some sewing in. <slight panic>
