50 Pounds to Subaru Journal

COngrat s on the loss and the clothes. It feels so great and encouraging when you buy smaller! Keep up the good work, you'll hit your goal in no time!

I'm having a good day. 35 days to the convention! The next 4 days are going to be a marathon of sewing for me :)

It's difficult for me to think of the convention so close. I have a lot of work left to do...

good morning Ashley!! wow 35 days! Look how far you have come! wooo hoooo!
Good luck with all the sewing and we will be expecting pics;)

Hi Ashley

Thanks for visiting my diary. I read your thread and you're doing so great. I'm inspired reading your success. I see you like the elliptical trainer too. Lots of times I feel like I'm not even working out, yet I'm dripping with sweat. I usually jog and that seems like way harder work to me than elliptical yet I don't sweat as much...weird.

I think costuming is very cool and who knows where that might lead you in terms of career...

Happy Home-stretching to ya!

Good morning ya'll! 176.2! Dang Mishi, always a pound ahead!

I have to get it in my head that nobody will be staring at my midsection with the tenacity and critical glare that I do. I got a little discouraged last night when I went to cut the pattern for my skirt and realized that the pattern sizes 10-16 were too small. I had to go buy the 16-24 pattern. I am usually a pattern size 16 - but I ended up between an 18 and 20 on this one.

Thankfully it is a gathered skirt that is very forgiving. I can't get actually sewing on it until the 11th because my 50% off fabric coupon isn't effective until then. When you're buying 10 yards of fabric at $8 a yard 50% makes a HUGE difference. This weekend I should be finishing most of my accessories.

Waking up at a new low number is always fun. 176.2, dang! I'm so close to 40 lbs lost - that will be fun to cross.

I tried the Biggest Loser DVD workout today - i really liked it. Everybody in the background is struggling with balance and sweating and are actually real people. It's encouraging.

If you want to know the honest truth it was 175.8... but I always just round down... so we are close to eachother! I figure as long as I consistantly round down it works out to be accurate... losing from a 176.8 to 175.8 is still a pound:) lol :p
I am so excited to see your costume. I can't sew... well I can sew square things like curtains and pillow cases but I don't even know how to begin an outfit. I tried to make a dress once but it was so bad and tight and hurt my arms... a pattern would have helped.. he he he

You'll look great in your costume. Can't wait to see the final pics. Congrats on the loss. Must feel great.

Have a great weekend!

Fair enough, Mishi :) The race is on.

I didn't know how to sew before starting to costume. The mother of one of my friends helped me on the first couple of costumes learning how to read a pattern. Sometimes I still don't get it and need help.

I've spent all night sewing. <exhausted> At around 7:30 I realized I needed a different interfacing so I hauled off to Joanns. While in line I saw a couple in their early 20s chatting and noticed they were looking at an anime picture. I'm not shy at all about talking to people in line, so it turns out they were working on a costume for the same convention.

It's actually not the first time that's happened. Joanns is apparently the place to go if you want to run into cosplayers.

<grumble> Didn't have the greatest weight loss weekend. I ate a ton.

I can say that I am down from last week though, that's all that REALLY matters.

Today I have a business meeting at The Cheesecake Factory :-X. Ive planned ahead what to get and I'm going to have them take out box half of my lunch sized portion before I even get my food.

I was hoping to lose some of the weekend's pain today but any restaurant food usually makes me draw even.

Hi Ashley. Don't sweat the weekend! You are right being down is what counts and I think it is the week that makes the difference. As long as you aren't crazy this week it will all balance out:)
Good luck with the cheesecake factory! sounds so yummy even now:)
Happy Monday:)

Thanks Mishi - You were right. I jumped up to 178.2 yesterday but I'm back down to 176.8 today - and that includes a day with a Cheesecake Factory visit.

I split my meal as soon as I got it - which turned out to be a brilliant idea. Since I was able to still lose weight yesterday it must not have been TOO terrible in calories. Today I split the leftover portion into breakfast and lunch. Kind of messed up that you can split the LUNCH size portion into 3 meals.

Even better - yesterday I bought size 14 pants! WOOHOO!

There is an annual marathon and half marathon in Phoenix in January that I think I'm going to try to go for next year (I'd do the half marathon :). If I do this I have to start training now - but I think this will give me a new awesome goal after the convention to keep me on track. I've never been a runner, but you have 4 hours to do 13 miles which is really just a plucky walking speed.

I"m going to think over it for a week or two and then just register so that I know I have to be ready :)

175.8 today! I love days with a new low.

My apartment gym was closed last night. And I was so extra special motivated too. Dangit.

Wednesdays are the days that I usually go to my mothers for dinner and overeat in general. I am going to have to find a way around that.

I am taking a girl in the church out to lunch today. I'm not sure where we're going yet - but I think we might to Lai Lai's - the Mongolian BBQ here. That way I can load up on veggies and lean meats.

I just got back from a 2 mile jog/walk. It felt good. I haven't sweat like this in a while - so yay.

I did reasonably well at mongolian BBQ. I ate a bit too much, but almost all of it was veggies and lean meats so I can't imagine it was must more than 500 calories. Now it's off to mom's for dinner. Wish me luck!

Mongolian bbq's are my downfall. I'm a grease freak...lol. Congrats on the loss btw and good luck with the marathon and half marathon. I heart PF Changs (I used to live really close to one in Kansas City).

So - I'm not sure how to feel about how yesterday went. I did well at the BBQ, and we had teriyaki chicken at mom's, with scalloped potatoes and corn. But, I ate a twix at church, and had a second helping of the chicken and potatoes after church. A small helping, but I ate.

But I worked out on a wednesday which is unusual.

I'm going to work hard today and would expect a new low number by tomorrow morning - I think/hope.
