50 lbs Down & 50 to Go!

:banghead:

Gained .8 of a lb. on 2000+ calories and only 30 minutes of exercise. I was undisciplined and lazy. I lost count of my calories, had an extra piece of chicken, ate some broken off hamburger pieces off the grill, had a couple of extra glasses of wine. I guess I should be glad I only gained .8 of a pound. I am just so tired of dieting and exercising.

I wouldn't let that discourage you too much. It happens to everyone, the trick is to keep at it. Exercising should be part of your life even after you reach your goal, just to maintain it, otherwise you know what happens.

I think your journey is remarkable so far and I am amazed at how good you are doing. Keep up the good work and don't let a little bump in the road discourage you.

Thanks big2small! I appreciate that. I just have to take it one day at a time. All I've got is today. Can't do anything about yesterday but learn from it. I must remember how good it felt when I had finally lost 50 lbs. That's keeps me going.

Very disappointing. How are your going to determine if you new rotation is working if you keep binging like that?

It's disappointing you're right but all I can do is get back on track. My new rotation is working. I'm sure I'll report another loss tomorrow.

Decided to tweak my diet again. Here's the latest modification.

1st Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 7 days.

2nd Week:

Next 7 days 1800/1500 calorie alternation

3rd Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 7 days.

4th Week:

Next 7 days 1500 increased by 100 calories
per day to 2100 calories per day

New rotation starts out at 1500 in the 4th week and increases by 100 calories to 2100.

No, I am losing about the same, but even if I were losing less that would be understand considering I have lost the easiest first 50 lbs. Regardless my new rotation is working better because I can stick to it for the long term. I could not have gone on much longer with those long 1200/1500 stretches. I could stay on this diet indefinitely. No diet is any good if you can't stick to it.

Ok now let's see you stick to this rotation for awhile.

Lost .2 of a lb. on 1800 calories and 50 minutes of exercise. I am very pleased with this weight considering I only got 50 minutes of exercise. This shows me that my metabolism has not slowed with my new rotation and I am on target to meet my goal of losing another 50 lbs.

Way to go! Keep it up! What do you normally do for exercise?

Thanks big2small! Walking (fast pace), rowing and stationary biking (which I can do at night while watching TV) seems to work for me. If I do weight lifting or lots of walking up and down stairs, I seem to put on weight but I think it is muscle so that is not altogether bad.
