40lb increase in bench over 2 months normal

I started working out in February I started dumbell bench press at 30lbs EACH dumbell.

I maxed out the weight on them so had no choice but to sell them and join the gym.

Since joining the Gym on 6th April 2007 I could bench 100lbs x8 (barbell)



Now, on the 5th June 2007 I can bench 140lbs x8 (barbell)

I personally think I have made excellent progress but is this good, average or bad progress over a 2 month period?

if you increased 40lbs in 3 months, thats 160lbs+ in a year!!!
if you keep that up, you will be a beast
 
You are doing well. Just keep in mind, this is not a normal increase for an experienced lifter. The more you train, over time your gains will be much less. But for now, it's a good sign for you that you have made gains and have no injuries. Keep it up. Don't forget to change up your workout to keep making gains.

I am impressed with my progress.

lol thanks for saying 'no injuries' I will probably end up hurting myself tomorrow lol
