Good call on hitting the gym! I haven't taken a break from it, but yeah I imagine it would be tough to get back into. I'd be scared to lose my momentum right now.

The crosstrainer that you're talking about, is it one of these?

Hows the weather in your area? Must be getting pretty cold. I hate winter personally, because I can't ride outdoors, I'm stuck on stationary stuff that the scenery doesn't change on.

No, its something like this:
only the ones at my gym don't have moving handles. Kind of a cross between a stairstepper and an eliptical. Loooveee em! That one that you just posted tho- holllly hunnies, that thing looks crazy! I don't even know if I would know how to use it, lol.
 
From what I see the relative motion is pretty much the same. teh arc trainer acts sort of like a stair stepper and an elliptical at the same time. I hate it!

Its a beast all right, lol. The first time I ever used it I went for ALMOST 5 minutes before I was sweating, and gasping for breath and I had to get off. But after that, i was hooked :) Its the only cardio machine I've ever used that really makes me feel like I got something out of it :rolleyes:
 
Tonight at the gym, just did cardio: cross trainer 45 minutes, 3.97miles. STILL can't believe how winded I was after just a few minutes! It feels good to workout again tho, can't take anymore breaks!
 
i hate hate hate those machines! we have like 5 at my gym and because we have those we have no ellipticals, stairsteppers....nothing! grr...maybe one night when im alone in my gym ill give it another try, but to me the motion just feels so unnatural.

I have been killer sick, which I HATE, have been eating NOT so good food, and I'm just frustrated right now :( I knowwww what it takes to do this: hard work and passion and energy! And normally, I would have it. So why not right nowww?! Its weird. I don't get it.. and being sick just doesn't help...

Sorry to hear you're sick. Don't stress. You're SICK. Focus on just getting better and resting! You'll get through this. I KNOW you put in the hard work and you have the passion. Energy will come once you're better. So SLEEP, drink tons of orange juice, and take your vitamins :p You're doing fine, Jess. You're going to be back on track in no time. If it makes you feel better, my eating has been pretty crappy as well and I'm not even sick. I have no excuses :-X

Take care of yourself Jess. We all have those moments where our diet goes out the window. It's about putting your foot down and putting an end to it timely...don't want to spend too much time in that "zone", it's like quick sand...keeps pulling you down further!!

I cheated all weekend here and there and was tempted to continue it on during the week. Last night I really wanted to hit a drive-thru for no good reason...just to have something warm, salty, and not good for me. Thank goodness I talked some sense into myself at the last minute and just drove straight home!!

Let your body recover and take care of yourself. Then jump right back into it!
 
Oook. So, TOMORROW IS A NEW FRIGGIN DAY! I've been "cheating" like crazy for quite a while, and I'm damn sick and tired of it. I wore some jeans out last night that I wore in Vegas, and they felt SNUGGGG. Not cool. And, its my own fault. I cannot go backwards like this, its pointless to be stuck on the same cycle of weight loss over and over again when I could just stick to my guns and do what I've been doing for the last six months. I'm charging my palm pilot, and I will count every damn calorie that comes close to my face, I will write down every single exercise that I do, and I will be damn sure that I make NO excuse for myself EVER AGAIN!

:) I feel good about my little rant. I actually BELIEVE it right now...
 
Good for you for putting a end to it. I admire you for counting your calories. I have done it in the past but it requires a lot of discipline. Go girl!!

Sorry to hear about the snug jeans...you'll get back on track in no time and have some wiggle room soon!

Again- didn't make it to the gym :( GOD! I feel like I'm not doing a damn thing this last week. I worked till 4:30 then went to work at the pool hall till 11pm. Bleh. It was a long day. So like I said before- I miss my 24 hour gym! But I am getting more sleep, so I've just gotta start timing it better...

I have a crazy long day tomorrow at work, so I got all my snacks and lunch packed and ready to go, yay! I've never been a good "early" planner, but if I have it all ready, I do so much better. The other choice I usually take is a protein bar at work, but damn! Some of these protein bars, whats the point?! Theres so much sugar and fat involved in them, are they realllly that good for ya? I've only found like three bars that aren't to bad, but even if I wanted to eat em, shit- can't afford it hahaha! neverending cycle.. :rolleyes:

SOOOO, hopefully tomorrow I will report a killer workout :)
OMG....i've read the same thing on the back of those labels for those bars! You really do have to watch which ones you eat and which ones you don't!
....Don't worry little bear about the GYM, it happens to us all...but I do know how you feel!!
Such a useless feeling...don't worry girl, you are one of the hardest working people on here!

Ah :) Today was a good day! Thank gooodddd. Gym time was a tiny bit short tonight: 38min crosstrainer, 2.29miles, thats it :( but, it was my sisters birthday, and we made dinner at home~ unfortunately NOT able to completely count calories because of that, but I ended up somewhere around 1750 :) A good decent number, I think. Just gotta make sure the rest of the week goes the same! Shouldn't be an issue, FINALLY!!!

Off to bed, will check on everyone tomorrow!
 
it sounds like you are doing well, do you find the palm pilot helps? Hubby got me one I never liked but I didnt think of these extra things I could do, might be an idea.

LOVE my palm pilot :) I don't really use it for anything other than my dieting either, but yeah, I take it to the gym with me, to work, etc., and write down EVERYTHING. It works for me.
 
calories were decent today, but didn't drink enuf water. Which is weird, cuz I feel like a fish somedays cuz thats ALL I drink. Oh well, will do better tomorrow :)

Did NOT go to the gym, but I actually used my stair stepper at home for 30min- my legs are killing me! Butttt in a good way, lol. The only reason I didn't go to the gym was the fact that we got dumped on with snow today- 8inches, and its reallllly icy. My car does not handle ice well; I was trying to leave the mall parking lot, but the damn exit is on a slight hill, annnd my car just kept sliding backwards! It took me probably ten minutes just to get the hell outta there. Yuck. Hate snow. I can handle the cold, no problem, but really, alll this snow?! Montana HAS been a little spoiled this year so far tho- we had one crazy snowstorm back in October, and haven't had any since. We usually get snow before Halloween, and don't see grass till March :rolleyes: time to suck it up, I guess!
