Well i've been around this forum for awhile, don't post much but I lurk =). Figure i'll finally throw up my Before and After; (Well, inbetween) To maybe give some of those motivation that need it, All the pictures i've scrounged up the weight may not be correct, but it's somewhere around there.

Now; the biggest and worst picture taken of me ever, I look scarily like my mother in these two. I'm at 311lbs, November 2006 I am in the white

Don't think I have any decent photo's in this stretch of July '08 to now. So my now currents are: 176lbs (As of last week, maybe I gained some :ack2:)
Need to buy some new clothes, most of mine are too big now ^^;

My Current goals are to now put on some muscle, which will in turn hopefully help the loose skin I have on my chest and stomach. The Chest is what bothers me the most, but i'm young so hopefully it will snap back (Plus maybe there's still some fat left in there, even though i've hit my goal of 175)

Wow, Wow Wow!!! Amazing change. You have motivated me to keep going. The ultimate goal has to stay in mind. A healthier life. Thanks for posting.

Congrats on your major transformation and thanks so much for sharing the journey with your pics for us.

How did you tackle it? Eating better foods - working out - both - other?

The loose skin can be an issue for anyone who loses large amounts of weight. I'm not an expert on that - but I bet a fitness routine of some kind might help things "tighten up" ... and if not, then I'd consult with a trainer and ask the opinion of a doctor to get some advice from people who really know the facts.

Bet you're loving the new you - you should!

PS: I found a web site with realistic info about loose skin. You might get a lot of good suggestions from this page: (I don't know the guy but he sounds intelligent and thoughtful)

One excerpt from that page which I hope you notice:
Point number 11:
" Give your skin time. Your skin will get tighter as your body fat gets lower. I've seen and heard of many cases where the skin gradually tightened up, at least partially, after a one or two year period where the weight loss was maintained and exercise continued."

Thank you everyone, yes I'm enjoying the new me. A lot more outgoing and wanting to atually do stuff XD

Initially it was just cutting out crud I knew I didn't need, soda, candy etc and not eating everyone's fat they cut off their pork chops and such:smilielol5: I picked up some paper routes which got me walking for 30min - 1hour a day with stairs and such too. then some other stuff like jogging around the basement for 10minutes, attempting to do push ups (Damn those!) and other stuff. I didn't start working out till I already lost quite a bit (Down to like 220) and even then, I didn't take it as seriously as I should have. Just started going fo jogs every few days outside and continued the better nutrition.

About 3 months ago I just pretty much stopped everything just for a little break, went back to some pretty crappy eating habits but still didn't gain more than a pound so I guess my metabolism is now pretty high up there. Started a more serious workout program about a month ago but i'm still trying to fine-tune everything and get info for better results. I do eat cookies and stuff still, I binge if I don't have something sweet every now and then, even if it's just a spoon of icecream.

I've lately been helping my sister-in-law (One in the above wedding pictures) now get her weight down some. although getting her to goto the gym isn't the easiest I'm trying to stick her on a concrete plan (For both of us) to get to that gym. Still trying to bust that barrier to get her used to her muscles being sore after a workout ^^;

I've been thinking of taking Jiu-Jitsu lessons with my friend in the near future, hopefully that will be fun and give some nice exercise too

TERRIFIC JOB! Wow, you have obviously done some serious work at changing your body and it has paid off. I am very happy for you, and excited that your S-i-L is also inspired and wanting your help.

Best wishes on the next phase of your journey:driving:

Been gone quite awhile, Guess i'll give a bit of an update on building some muscle now and toning up. I do have shirtless pics, but I won't post those for the sake of people's eyes =p If you do wish to see to give feedback if it is actually loose skin or such just send a PM.The loose skin has gotten a bit better I think. My Sister in Law is doing ok, she is going down slowly.

Sent,

going to try a new workout plan next week. Bought lumber etc and built myself a Power Cage so I now have a place to do pullups, and to push myself to my real limit on stuff like Squats or the bench without fear of crushing myself. I do lack core exercises though, Need to get on that <.< what's a good time to aim for on Planks?

Wow great job!

It's hard sticking to it but it seems like you kicked ass!

That's insanely amazing going from 311 to 176!

damn man your lookin sharp. i tried to pm you but it would'nt let me i just wanted to say that i have to lose about the same amount of weight that you do and i was wondering how saggy ur skin had gotton cuz that's one of my biggest concerns on having to lose so much weight. and also how old and tall are you? if i may ask

I am currently 18 years old, So I started to lose my weight when I was... 15-16. I'm 6'1-ish, On a plus note, I can finally do some pullups without jumping up first huzzuh. I'll PM you the comparison pictures I have sent the previous posters who asked.

Inspiring!

It's not often that you'll find someone so committed and willing to change despite family background, etc., but especially someone so young! You're truly inspiring, and you look fantastic! ;)
