Cohen's Lifestyle -30 kg for my 30th birthday

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Awesome to hear. I wish that I could do that hear but unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere and they way my husband works its just to nuts. Its great though that you have something to do besides think of food. I thought of a snickers for about well 5 min. Contemplating wether to eat it and feel stupid later or just wait and eat my tomato tomorrow.... I decided on tomato LOL. :hurray: I feel weird thinking tomato over snickers but hey I think its a good thing. And the great thing is. I can eat the tomato after the diet and still be satisfied. Ohh im totally ready for the end so I can sing and dance like Dora (have a little girl :blush5:) and say I did it. Now look at me.... Time to have a baby and then get a tummy tuck WOOO hoooo lol.
Well hope all is well. Have a great one and remember Its not to far away where you can enjoy bad food once in awhile.
>.<:cheers2:

mind changing

Isn`t it fantastic how our brain is adapted to the diet, Yukoi? Snickers or tomato, you definetely made the right choice! :hurray:
I`m around my day 10, and just relaized I almost skipped my lunch! Ten days ago I was dying of hunger because my portions seemed too small. My nowadays favorite is honey dew melon with rocket and grilled turkey breast, I make it when I feel a little bit down.

Hi lanina!

Wow a lot of Ausies on the forum! Soon Australia will be full of HOT HOT FEMALES! BEWARE! WOW!:smilielol5:

Nice to meet you Lanina! I want to congratulate you on completing your first week! Its realy the toughest part! I also had a hard time with headaches and nausea and all the rest but it goes away after like you said- a few days! oh and pms weeks are also a killer so just take note-- cravings realy kick in 100%

I see myself in you and my goal is very similar to yours! 25KG before my 25th Birthday-- which is on the 25th of September-- so not to far away! ehheeh Ive been on Cohens now of almost 2 and half months! shoe CANT BELIEVE ITS BEEN THAT LONG!

One thing-- Cohens does get better with time-- guaranteed! I like your turkey and rocket Idea! sounds super yum yum! I now somedays look at my portions and I feel like : TOO MUCH FOOD! sounds crazy but its true! You get use to it and quickly too! :lurk5:

the first 4 weeks are really the most exciting becasue you loose the most during those first weeks! thereafter it slows a bit but keeps going and going and going! I dont regret going on Cohens for one second! :coolgleamA:

Deviating is realy the big NO NO! Ive always been weighing myself--I know they say you shouldnt but diff things for diff people i guess! It keeps me motivated when i SEE THE NUMBERS DROP :)

Looking forward to hearing about your progress and be STRONG LADY! This is deff possible and we are here along with you! :)

lotsahugg

Second week - completed

Let`s see my results:
-4.8 kg total, this week -1.1kg only (kinda slowing down, but it`s just week2!)
-3.4% fat total, this week -1.4%
-4 cm total, this week -2cm

Cons: feel better, got harder nails, better skin tone, less acne
Pros: craving (still), got constipation (72 hours by now nothing...:()
Deviation: weighing myself, 1 roll, 300ml of milk

I have got rsi (repetetive strain injury) from typing a lot on my computer, so I had to take some voltaren (oral) which caused a very serious pain in my stomach. Unfortunatelly I have got a history of stomach ulcer, so i had to eat a breadroll before I took my medicine...sot that was the reason for deviation. It`s sounds like an excuse, but I have to tell, I didn`t enjoy it at all (altough I thought I will..) And the milk? I drunk it because I thought it will help me out from constipation...(got a mild lactose intolerance)...but it didn`t. Any advise on this? What should I do or take? I don`t prefer take any medicine unless it is necessary.
My plan says take some natural laxative. But what`s that?? Prune - not allowed, linseed - not allowed, bananas n/a, beans - n/a...:svengo: I feel like a balloon...

You can get senna, which is the thing in fruit like prunes which "makes you go". Softens everything. Tablets in big supermarkets in the medical section.

It's difficult to get right, because when eating a lot less food, you just don't go as much, so you have to make sure everything in there is soft and that you can go when you need to. I swing all the time between too soft, too hard... not a good subject, but you get the picture. Lots of water, I take senna every day now, and try and keep it all under control. It will sort out at the end, but it's not totally easy on the diet (not for me anyway).

You will be amazed how some things clear up on the diet - well worth the effort, and just underlines how much we suffer for eating a poor diet previously! You may possibly find that eventually the stomach settles a bit too.

PS - you can get from a health shop a tablet which is a chromium supplement. This helps with the cravings a bit, so maybe you might try it? In another couple of weeks you should start adjusting, though.

Thank you so much Niyah, chromium certainly did/does the trick! I`m going to try out senna as well, I definitely need that...

I just wanted to say hi again. Sorry its been awhile well a couple of days I suppose. >.<
I hope everything is going well. you seem to be doing awesome. Keep up the good work. Your doing great. And losing awesome >.<:spam:

Hi Ianina- I have suffered from Constipation since the birth of my first child. I was advised by my consultant to take Metamucil capsules but found they did not work for me so also take Senna. Are you eating apples at all? They do help & if they don't make you hungry I would include them in your daily diet.
If you ever need to eat before medication then the crackers are our equivalent to bread & should work the same but without deviating. I would suggest staying off the scales for a few reasons. Your deviations may have set you back a week weight-wise & it's done so can't be changed. Weighing constantly may set you up for disappointment as our weight varies all the time due to many things like TOM, how much fluid you have drunk etc.
If you stick to Cohen's 100% you will lose weight.
Whenever you are having any problems or queries email or ring your consultant. We pay more for the program in Australia because we have access to consultants. I used to spend ages reading the forum & trying to find answers when a quick call would have done the trick!
Always remember if it's not in the program it's not allowed.
You are doing this for yourself Ianina. You have made a really wise decision to do Cohen's so you may as well give it your best shot! It gets easier as you go if you stick with it 100%.
Cheers, Cate.

Ohh, yeah, I`m eating apples, this is my usually breakfast: apple with yoghurt. It doesn`t make me hungry at all, and I realy like it, because it`s jucy and crunchy.
That was just 1 time when I ate a small breadroll before my medication, because I was at a pharmacy and I didn`t bring my crackers along. But after that I took my medication after some crackers, but unfortunatelly it wasn`t enough, I got serious abdominal pain. So I decided to stop taking any more pill. The healing will be longer, but it`s better for my stomach.
I know I should call my consultant whenever I need an advice, but I have to say, I don`t like making a call, because english isn`t my mothertongue, and I got a very heavy accent, and that`s just annoy me because some people is not able to understand me, so my consultant does. That`s my shame, I`m working on my accent, but it`s just piss me off to not able to communicate with her...to face to face it`s easier, than on phone, but her office is 1.5 hours away from me. So that`s why I`m here and asking advise...

Hi, are you able to email your consultant?

I am an email person. I don't like the phone - my weird habit. I always email my consultant about questions and they usually reply within 1 day.

Ianina- No wonder you don't like to call her then! I am sorry if you thought I was trying to put you off asking us questions because I certainly did not mean it that way. I am more than happy to try to answer any queries. Sometimes I can't answer them as I can only go on what my original program says & it's 2years old. I used to email my consultant mostly as they were rarely in the office. Please accept my apology as I do think I may have offended you unintentionally. You will find support here in the forum from all of us. Cheers, Cate

No worries Cate, I didn`t think/mean you pushed me at all! You are so nice to everyone, and so helpful, cheerful and wise, I always read your comments and thoughts because you help me a lot!
Fornight: I`m going to ask my consultant about this email stuff, probably that suits me a best!
Thx Girls!

Ianina, we're off for a few days so hang in there and keep at it! You'll see the difference in your clothes happening really soon.

Don't worry about preferring to email rather than phone - I have NO excuse as I'm Ozzie born and bred, but STILL prefer email than phone - it's just "me" and I feel like I can say what I want much better that way. And - ask away on here to those that have been on the the journey before, that's absolutely fine! Everyone's been through this at least once and had to combat all the same things most probably as you are right now.

week 3 - completed

-5.1 kg total, this week -0.3kg only *
-3.4% fat total, this week -0%
-7 cm total, this week -3cm (mainly from belly)

Cons: got a better, sensible taste
Pros: mad mood
Deviation: none (except weighing)

*I don`t know or understand what`s happening to me, but last week I lost only 1,1 kg, and I thought, that`s okay, bit slowing down, but still loosing. But this week...Actually I gained weight at the first couple of days, and after slowly going down, yesterday I was still heavier than week 2 weighing, and all together I lost only 300g, which is nothing. (it`s not my TOM)
I`m so disapointed, I suppose to lose much more weight on my first 4 weeks, not that little. :banghead:
Sometimes I think this isn`t working for me...:leaving:..

Ianina- I have often read that a deviation off the program can set you back a week's loss. I think it was only last week that you had the bread roll & milk. That would explain the loss of 'only' .3kg. Forget about this week. It's great that you still had a loss! Give the program and yourself a chance. Enjoy your week-end & try to be positive. If you are able to find a book on positive thinking it may help you. I know it does me. Cheers, cate.

I know my body has already adapted to the diet, and this is the time to make this trick to my brain as well and get to start some positive thinking. I`ve already attending on meditation class, which is realy help me. Sorry if I`m posting to many negative feelings, as I read back and can see most of my time I`m crying over something, shame on me. I think I just forgot to post my happy moments as well, because when I`m happy I`m not sitting in front of my pc.

Today I got a compliment from my hubby, which blow away my negativ feeling about a small amount of weightloss: He can see on my bum some changes, it`s not saggy anymore, became much more shaped :) He is probably right, I can`t see my bum, I have to take some pics to confirm it. Just kidding... :p

Ianina,Good for you. I cannot believe that my new bum is really my bum.I thought I was destined to have a big fat bum for the rest of my life. I actually turn around now & look in the mirror & say "That's my bum!" & I smile. That's good that you are going to meditation classes. I wish we had some locally. I'll add some more Australian slang in my diary if you like. We are a weird mob & our language must take some getting used to. Nice re the comment from your husband, xo Cate

Good "side-effect" of the diet

You got a realy good excuse to buy:
- a good quality grill pan/fry pan or wok, depending on which one you prefer
- good quality meat and veggies
- new clothes, after loosing general amount of weight

You got a realy good excuse to eat:
- realy good and jucy steak, sometimes more than once a week
- fresh meal, every day, every meal
- fresh and jucy seasonal fruits

You can add more if you got something in your mind!
