3 or 4 sets on legs?

hey... Does it really make much of a difference on whether you do 3 or 4 sets on legs.. reps are 8-10.
I do hamstrings and glutes on one day, (donkey kicks, hamstring curls, squats, lunges) and quads on another day (leg press, front squat, leg extentsion).. my program says to do four sets of each exercise,, but is that necessary or can i get by with 3? I want to do whats BEST.

if your program says 4, i would go with that.. ofcource you dont NEED to.. 4 sets would be a bigger total volume than 3 sets, and it depends on your goals..
 
Well you're actually working quads with lunges and squats from the first exercise group. Quads and glutes work together. Are you just looking for a good leg routine?

Good Morning
Lunge
Deadlift
 
unless you're strapped for time, i'd do all your legs in one day.

squats, leg press, stiff leg deadlifts, calf raises. 4 sets of each should be god's plenty for volume.
 
What's best is determined by your goal. But I would do legs all on one day. Most leg exercises incorporate the same general muscles. So you may be over working them.
