Im a 21 year old guy and I have been on the forum now a week or so and have only just really got the confidence to join this thread, i have not been comfy with my body for as long as i can remember and the thought of posting it on a forum for anyone to see is daunting to say the least. As i entered this quest to loose weight i was not sure how much i needed to loose so i have decided to break it in to too different parts. i firstly want to get from around 20stone to 15 stone, i will then hopefully push to get down to a healthier weight still. so i am going to get the courage to take the photos and will be posting them at some point today.

Took a lot of courage but i finaly decided to upload these :s

so far im watching every thing i eat, no junk food just healthy stuff. i have also made a makeshift gym consisting of a weights bench and a exercise bike lol. Im cycling between 30 and 45 mins a night and doing weights on 4 of those nights. i also walk every day (university) and will start walking different and longer routes.

The first step is the hardest, that is over now so the rest will be a lot easier for you. I wish you the best on this necessary trip, man! You can do it!

right, ive finally took the step and uploaded the pictures. in a strange way its spuring me on more because of hom much i hate to look at them.

Making the commitment to looking at yourself honestly is a huge step. I for a long time just did not even want to accept the idea that I had gained so much weight. My own mental body image was so far off of where I was physically such that when I think back about it I am at a loss to explain what I was thinking.

The good news is that your young and you have a wealth of information and support available to you! Stay positive and understand that it will be a long term process and it will happen.

yer i know what you mean, i was under no impresion i was in shape but untill actually seing those pictures in front of me i never realy knew how far away from me goals i really was.

You can do it. As you lose, you'll look back at your pictures and compare them and feel so good about yourself. Keep us updated!

Weights aren't going to do you a single bit of good. Dominate that bike until you're where you want to be. Then lift weights.

im doing the weights as i go because i dont want to end up with a lot of excess skin. i am doing more cardio than weights though.

Weights help you to build up your muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn. So keep lifting the weights, it helps along the way.

just weighed my self and ive lost 5lb. im happy enough with that. So this coming week im gonna turn it up a noch. more exercise, zero alcahol. Ive not actualy been snacking much at all but im gonna try cut that as weel. 8 lb more and im into the 19st catagory. whooop

thanks again for all support thus far, even though its early days.

end of second week and i weigh the exact same, im honestly gutted. I have got the exercise up from 3X10 mins to 2X30 mins. Im still eating healthy and not had any junk food.

So has anyone else ever suffered an inexplicable stand still?

That happened to me...way more than once. Start taking your measurements and you might see a difference there.

If you step on a scale 5 or 6 different times in one day, you'll weigh something different every time. Think of the scale as a lame friend who lies to you a lot. It's not all about the scale. :)
