24 hour fitness was a complete failure. Atkins would not work for me as I studiously examined it but the alcohol problem I have would kill it quick. Hmm... maybe just watching what I eat, walking, and well I don't know what else would do it.

you have to start somewhere

start by making small changes, nothing drastic at first. if you drink milk, try switching to low fat or skim. check all the food you eat and switch to low fat or lower calorie versions if you can.

substitute all soft drinks, juices, and coffee, for water. start taking 15 minute walks then gradually work up to 30 minutes. and TRY to cut back on the booze!

don't be so drastic wonderwomen ... you can't cut back on the booze :) ... you have to leave something intact. But, on the whole, I agree. Losing weight doesn't have to be a drastic change all at once. In fact, your body will have an easier time adjusting and maintaining any weight you lose, if you do it gradually. Just like weight training, you have to ease into it and allow your body to adjust.

as someone currently in school, I can relate to the alcohol issue... I don't drink alot, but i like to go out with friends for a beer or two a few times a week. I have found that if i cut back and simply allow myself that treat once a week (or less) I feel better.
