I have been at it for about 6 months now, and im down to about 235 which is really good so far i think.

When i first started, i was eating healthier and only twice a day, drinking nothing but water. Combined with going to the gym every day (minus weekends) and lifting...no cardio. I lost about 10lb per month this way.

Month 3-4 i got sick with mono....so i missed about a month or 2 of the gym, and i recently got back into it like 2 months ago, but my diet is kinda getting screwy again....soda/crap food. I have gained about 3-4lb this way.

Starting last week i am back into my diet, water only, and gym. Only this time im gonna start spinning as well 2-3 times a day, not missing a day of weight lifting.

Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated (good/bad)

Here are some before/after pics....dont really have any recent pics, but i get compliments where ever i go, saying i look different and have lost weight. It feels great, and i cant wait to drop another 40 to get to my target.

Your enthusiasm is infectious. I just started at the gym and I now I know its okay to go every day because YOU are. Great work to lose 50 in 6 months.

update:

230lb, ive started going more strict on my diet. Protein shake with 130 calories int he morning, provides vitamins and essentials for a meal replacement, daily vitamins, and a light low-carb dinner around 4pm before hitting the gym at 7pm. Been following that for 2 weeks now and ive lost another 6lb.

geeez! What a difference.. Amazing work :D Everytime I read stories like yours and see pics, it keeps me motivated and thinking "it IS possible!"

The wonders of a proper DIET!

I recently hit a stump in my weight lose, i would work out, run, eat less....nothing, spent a month of just nothing, no moving down in weight. So i kinda took a break, gained 10lb, and just 3 weeks ago started doing something about it again. I was stuck on 230-233 for a while before i took a small break and carelessly drank, ate, partied ;)

Heres me now after going to a nutritionist and being on a strict diet for the past (almost) 2 weeks. Im down to 215 from 231 in just a little under 2 weeks! If theres anything i can give you guys tips on (for those looking for tips and motivation) its go see a nutritionist, a GOOD one, and eat healthy. your diet is such an important role in your weight lose that i could not stress it more. (btw, its not really a diet...i eat like 5 times a day!)

anyways - thought id share:

will update on my body fat % once i complete my first 2 weeks of dieting.

Awesome Work! You must feel so proud of yourself!! :) I am waiting for a referral on a Nutritionist..it's been 2 1/2 months or so now.:toetap05: I am not expecting miracles, I just want to talk to someone in person that knows what they're talking about. Even though I have started to see a 6 pack underneath my fatty fat. LOL ;)

Funny how you and I started at the same weight around the same time (I started October 13th 2008) and we're about at the same place now. I still got 4 lbs more than you. My goal is the same as yours. You look a lot younger than me (I'm 48) so it's cool to see I'm keeping up with a youngster.

How many days a week have you been exercising? I've been doing 45 minutes on the elliptical 6-7 days a week plus weights and sit ups. Here's my b&a pic in case you missed it.
