265 to 220: my journey.

Okay, I know its not a big goal, but you gotta start somewhere right?
My name's Sherman. I'm 16, over weight, and a little disgusted with myself. I've been trying to loose weight for a while. My biggest problems are that I always give into temptation, I love food too much, and I'm lazy. I've decided to make a change. My reason for finally making a change in my life is , I love snowboarding. I started freshmen year, and if I could do anything everyday, it would be that. Last trip I went on, I was riding in the woods, hit a rock, and fell. I ended up breaking 4 bones.in my arm and wrist. The doctor said I shouldn't snowboard anymore. My dad said I won't snowboard anymore until I loose some weight. I just got my cast off my arm last Friday. Its great to be free. But now its time for change.
Normally, when I get home from school, I'm home alone. And since I'm bored, and there's nobody to stop me, I eat.....everything. Lol.
Today was my first day of change. I weigh 265 pounds. And I hate my body.
I'm going to do my best to do a daily post about what I did that day. What I ate, and what kind of physical activities I did, or didn't do.
Today, I didn't eat breakfast, had a chicken patty sandwich and a coffee for lunch, ate a bunch of grapes when I got home and went and rode my bike around for an hour and a half. Its a good change compared to my normal days.....I'm hoping this forum will help me. But we shall see....

Good luck Sherm!

Eat less move more. Make the changes a habit and stick to it. Bike riding is great. Your body will thank you down the road if you can make the changes now. Skipping breakfast may not be the best idea. Try to make changes you can do forever rather than having that "diet until I'm the weight I want" thinking. Take it slow. Stick around, there are a lot of good people here and plenty that have succeeded or are on their way.

Good luck, Sherman! You're off to a good start, just keep making small changes and it'll all add up. Make sure you plan to be active right when you get home if you can. Don't give yourself enough time to make excuses not to!

Hey, welcome!!!
You can do this!!!
I was 273 this January - now I m down to 254.5 - almost 20 lbs!!!

Stay here for support - this place is great for that!!

Thanks guys. It seems great from my expereance so far. Im at physical therapy today for my wrist so I might get to exsersise today. But I will have to see what time I get done here.

Like I thought, I didn't get to go out and exsersise like I planned. But I'll make up for it tomorrow. I didn't eat breakfast (how's a bagel with cream cheese sound for tomorrow?), I had a chicken patty and a water for lunch (its the cheaper lunch at school, I'd rather spend my money on fun stuff like my models. Lol.) And I had a chase burger and pasta salad for dinner.
I'm planning on starting to pack my lunch for school, this way I can not spend any money on a very badly cooked chicken patty. (How do you mess up freezer food?) So does anybody have any suggestions to pack for lunch? Would packing some fruit/vegetables and water be ggood? Or should I pack something else?

PS, I have prom coming up in a month or so, and I managed to get a date with a really cute girl, so I would like to do as much as I can between now and then. Help?
