240 to now 180 ~ about 25/30 more to go...(Pics incld.)

Hey guys... so it's been a long time since I've been on here. So 240 was my heaviest some time back and I'm now at 180. I dropped the weight in a year's time. It could have been sooner but there were certain events that stopped my activities from progressing. I'm back on route though since these last pounds are being a hassle to shed off. I have a new style of eating (which is what was my main issue) and now the pounds are coming off again. =)

Oh, I'm 5'8 and workout 6 days a week- 4 of those days include weight resistance.

I'm told I need to start jogging now. I'm a bit nervous about starting it though. Anyone else feel that way with the whole jogging deal? Running and I just don't seem to mix but I know I have to. Need some guidance there por favor! =)

You look amazing first off,
you look so much younger and just happier.
Personally I love jogging and it's in my routine
on a tredmillll, so just start off as slow as you want
for as short as you want even if its a minute a day
you can work yourself up so your comfy with it.
That's what I did and now I jog 20minutes a day.
Goodluck

Woww. Stunning! Running is tough for me too, but once you start and get your body used to it you will be able to see and feel the difference...especially if you use a treadmill. I know I use a treadmill because I can set goals for myself..whether its jog/run for 1/2 a mile or 5 mins or whatever..then you can keep increasing your goals.

Also another tip that helped me out was using music while running..I run for like 2 or 3 fast/upbeat songs..then for slower ones (if on a treadmill) I put the incline all the way up and fast walk up hill for 2 or 3 more songs..its a great work out.

Thanks guys!

So I started yesterday. Oh my gosh I really don't have stamina but I'm going to work on it. I did 5 mins of brisk walking and 2 mins running for 25 mins and then 15 mins of the elliptical. I was dead on the treadmill after 25 mins but at least I started. I think I'll keep that game plan going. I know it's only 6 mins total of running but I know it's better than zero. Hopefully within a month's time I can go a bit longer than that. =)

You look incredible! Keep up the good work! Jogging is hard but give your body time to get used to it. Don't give up :)

Maybe you could try the Couch to 5K running program...

Or Jeff Galloway's running program...

I've never been a true 'runner'...but I've gotten much better (faster / longer distances) over time....

You can do eeeeeeeeeeeet...

BTW...you look FANTASTIC!

Wow you look great, and I am sure that as long as you keep at it, you are going to build up your stamina and will be a lot better runner. Keep it up.

I'd definitely recommend the Couch to 5k - i followed it for the first few weeks until I felt able to jump from running the 5 - 8 mins days to pushing it to 12-14 mins then one day I just went "sod it, I'm not that bothered whether I stop or keep running" (compared to "omg I have to stop before I collapse", and ran 20 mins. I am now up to running for 28 mins at a time - 3-3.5km and loving it... Its all just getting into that groove - once your body is used to it, it just kind of goes "ah I know what to do, keep putting one foot in front of the the other". I'm still heavy (194 at the moment) but the running has REALLY started to change my shape -I can definitely see the different on my stomach, bottom and legs in comparison to other times I've lost weight where I haven't toned in the same way in these areas.

Yea, you could stop traffic now.

Wow. You are absolutely gorgeous! Amazing job.

Ill add that the c25k is a great program. Its slow and you feel stronger each time. If you get stuck, take an extra day or two break. Its worked for me.

Thank you so much for the compliments and thumbs up! =)

So I looked into the couch to 5k and actually started something very similar to it, so I'm going to follow this game plan you all suggested! I will post updates on how it all goes! =)

You look amazing! What a transformation! I'm just starting out at 240 and I'm nervous but excited to works towards my goal! Any pointers and/or advice? What was your routine? What kind of dietary changes did you make? :)

Wow, you look amazing! Total inspiration to me that's for sure, your pictures really show your success. What were you eating to loose this amount of weight, I have just started my weight loss journey and am trying to find alternatives to certain foods and trying to spice it up a bit so i don't get too bored.
Thank you!
Alex
