235lbs in 10 months

yeah I like your attitude. one thing ive noticed though as my stomach goes down my "man Boobs" stay the same or atleast seem to be, do they ever start getting smaller? it's embarrassing!

Yeah man they go down bro no worries. Make sure you are hitting the weights as well as cardio...eventhough I truely believe cardio is the key to real fast weightloss.
WOW!! That's really remarkable. I'd be interested to hear how your friends and family have reacted, particularly those who haven't been around much during your journey.

You look great!

honestly its kinda mixed. I've lost some friends and gained some. Some of them couldn't be more happy for me and some of them it has ruined our relationship.

I've heard that happens with weight loss and friends sometimes. To those friends that you have lost, you must have been something to them as a bigger person that you cannot be as a smaller person, in their mind. It's obviously their issue with you. I bet you weren't expecting to lose some friends as you took control of your life and got healthy. I guess it's part of life though, right? Congrats on all your success. I can't wait to see pics of your new body after your surgeries, I hope your very pleased :)

Thats amazing, you are truly an inspiration - I'm down 45 lbs since May, and I was beginning to think that my rate of loss was unhealthy, but you have inspired me to keep on trucking. I'm considering putting your before & after pics on the wall next to my exercize bike for motivation, thanks again.

Your story is my favorite I've ever read on these forums Ironman.

You were losing 20lbs a month like I did on my last succesful plan which I am going to resume soon thanks to your post motivating me to do so.

With weight loss throughout my life I always seem to get so close to reaching my goals and dreams only to give up or get discouraged near the end of the journey and go right back to where I started.

I believe I won't do that this time and will succeed thanks to finding this forum and your post here.

I believe I can have my dream now finally.

Yeah unfortunately its just part of it I suppose. None the less I wouldn't go back to my old lifestyle even if someone paid me.

ahh thanks. That means alot to me. I hope I can show that anyone can do this. Its just a matter of putting your mind to something and never quiting. Consistancy day in day out is how you loose and continue to loose. You can do it! Go get em'!

Thanks, you can totally do it. I lost at the rate of 20lbs per month right up until I hit goal. I think the key is to always change up your program and make sure you are counting calories all the time. You body will go through periods of adjustment but, I never hit more than a 3-4 day plateau in 12 months. Ofcourse I worked out for hours everyday...haha I think that had alot to do with it too. Thanks so much for your kind words and best of luck on your personal journey, you can totally do it. Mind over matter.

I'm back home healing from my tummy tuck and thigh lift. I'll get some new pics posted up next week when I get my drains pulled. I won't be able to hit the gym again till like mid/late september but, once im cleared I plan on wailing on my midsection.

It should take me another 6 months but, come christmas time or shortly thereafter I should have the body i've always dreamed of. 6pack included.

I've lost 237lbs. Im currently 208lbs. I used to be 445:eek2:

Applause are in order!!!! Great job IRONMAN.... I give you a ton of credit. Wow!!! What a remarkable amount of weight loss. What did your friends that knew you think??? about your huge transformation? Again great job!:jump:

way 2 go! By the way how much does the surgery cost?

Its not that bad although mine was done for free. My surgeon was very interested in my story and wants to use me as kinda advertisement of whats possible. I had my 250 co pay and thats that.

Thanks my friends don't know who I am anymore. Now that im 3 weeks out from plastics I currently weigh 200lbs. I'll prolly end up being in the mid 190's when im fully cut like I need to be. Last time my BF% was measured it was 8% but, its prolly a little less now since she did take some remaining fat with the skin. So all in all i'll end up being down 250lbs. If I can do this ANYONE can. Im not special or blessed with great genetics. I just work very very hard.
awesome man

keep it up, u'll get ur 6 pack sooner then u know

Thanks man. From here it shouldn't be that bad. Maybe 3-4 months and I should have a great midsection. Its just going to take a couple hours a day of training.

Looking good Ironman.

Hopefully you never stop visiting the forum off and on as I'll be where you're at in these pictures in 7 months and I'd be honored to have you post in my before and after topic when I make one with my pictures.

You, JeremyRice, Chef, and Gizmo have given me unbelievable motivation I never thought I would have again.

You can do it bro! Trust me its just about dedication. You can change your life. I'll see you on the other side brother:cool:

Lookin' fantastic br0. Looks like the plastics turned out very well, congratulations! Kudos also on getting it all done for $250, that must feel good too. 65 miles a week!!!! Damn, I'm doing good if I get 20 in a week. I see now where I need to step it up at and stop slacking :)

You're an inspiration for sure.

Hi,

This is my very first post, though I've been lurking (and losing by eating right and working out pretty intensely) for the past couple of weeks.

You are truly inspirational.

I have a couple of questions for you though, primarily one regarding daily workout regimens. How do you have time to work out 2 hours a day?

I have to be at work at 7:45, which means I have to be home and eating breakfast by no later than 6:45. The gym opens at 5:30, but unofficially at 5:15. So I'm up at 4:45 and out the door by 5:10 so I can be downstairs and on the treadmill by 5:15. (The gym is right by my house, a five minute walk.) The most I could possibly do in the morning is 1.5 hours and even that is pushing it for time. Did you split your workout time up so you were hitting the gym twice a day? I've thought about doing only cardio in the mornings and then doing my weight training in the evenings 3-4 times per week, but I'm not sure if that even makes sense. I absolutely refuse to do all of my workouts in the evening, especially not an hour of cardio. I know myself, and I know if I wait to do that after hours of teaching I simply won't get it done. I am, however, willing to do some cardio (20 minutes to get my heart rate up) and my weight training in the evenings 3-4 days per week in addition to only cardio in the morning 7 days per week

Anyway, I'm not sure if it matters much, but I saw in a sticky post you're supposed to include your height and weight and all that stuff when asking for advice.

Gender: F
Age: 30
Height: 5'4"
Start Weight on June 28: 220
Current Weight, as of August 8 :195
Short Term Goal: Run a 5K on October 13
Long Term Goal: Be 120 pounds or a size 6
Really Long Term Goal: Become a marathon runner

Some of my weight loss occurred while I was traveling overseas during the month of July, though how much I lost overseas I am uncertain. It was probably 5-8 pounds, as it wasn't enough for anyone to notice, but my clothes felt a little bit more loose by the time I came home.

As of now I'm doing an hour of cardio 7 days per week and about 45 minutes of weight training 3-4 days per week. I'm only able to do this now because I'm still on summer break and don't really have to do anything or be anywhere after the gym. On days when I do my weight training I am at the gym for 1 hour and 45 minutes easily.

My other question is about your food intake. How is it possible for you to eat that many calories after having had GBS. My friend had GBS on Halloween of last year and is now down 140 pounds. She hardly eats anything because she simply can't eat much at one sitting. She has started going to the gym, but she is incapable of working out really hard simply because she isn't consuming enough food to support rigorous exercise. She's also much older than you; she's 55 and has been really fat for about 25-30 years. I adore her and want the best for her and am really proud of her, but I often feel concern for her because I fear she isn't eating enough.

In case you can't remember my questions, here they are again:
How do you consume that much food after having had GBS?
Do you split your workout or gym time up so you're exercising twice a day?
And if you don't do that, do you know if it's even beneficial to do cardio in the mornings and then short cardio and weight training 3-4 days per week in the evenings?

You're awesome!

im very sorry. I will repond as soon as I can and work with you as best I can. Im having major network issues that should be resolved later this week. When they are I will be able to sign back onto the site and we will see what we come up with.

Its all about what you are willing to sacrifice and give up. Time to relax, time with friends/family/ect. Scheduling isint easy but, its nessesary if you wish to reach your goals in a very quick amount of time. That and effort during workouts on your part are the two most important factors in reaching high level's of results save for diet which is also important.

Once again I should have this problem fixed soon and i'll come back to this thread and address your questions one at a time as best I can. Thanks.

Ironman,

Your hard work and dedication has really paid off! Congratulations on the extremely healthy new lifestyle you have found. I wish you all and the best of luck! You look so great!
