Hi Everyone,
I am on a mission to get through a 2 year plateau! I am blogging, posting to this forum and doing what I can to seek support to get back on track.

At my heaviest I was 230 but for the past 2 years I've been stuck at 180. My goal is 150-160ish so I feel like while I'm so close, I'm still so far and STUCK!!

Thanks for any support!
Alison

Wow, what an amazing job you have done so far!! You look terrific!! Is there a reason for the "getting stuck", or are you eating clean and working out like someone who looks(and probably feels) how you want to? Obviously, you have done an wonderful job, just curious about your routine. :)

Great job

First of all congratulations on your accomplishment. You must be tall because you look really amazing at your present size.

As far as the plateau, I would take a good hard look at what you are eating, try to reduce your calories. And also your excercise, try to increase the intensity and frequency. That should get you on track again. My guess is that your body has gotten used to whatever you have been doing, and you need to give it a jolt!

Congrats!!
Sometimes the body cannot lose more weight as you don't really need to.
Best thing I would do in your place is to build muscle or burn fat and stop weighing weight but fat and measure girth.

WOW, Great job. Keep up the great work and you can for sure make it to your goal in time... Wishing you the best of luck on your journey,
Emcee

You're gorgeous!

I'm so impressed with how well you carry the weight! You look amazing - you really do. It's a big change from your before and after.

Thanks for the support everyone!

I just got back in town and saw the responses to my post and it was really great! Thank you all so much for the support! To answer some of the questions, I am 5'8 1/2. As for workout, I've been all over the place but I do try to be heavy on the weights because I grew up with a body-builder for a dad and know that it's more effective than just cardio. I was running but I really honestly prefer walking because I am a daydreamer and it's good if I can daydream while working out. So I'm back to a walking program and training to walk (with bursts of running) a marathon in April 2009. I'm not sure why I've been stuck at 180 for so long but I'm sure it's been more a mental block than a physical block. Every time I get below 180 I seem to just naturally do things to sabotage myself and put the weight back on. So I'm going to not allow myself to do that anymore and just get through it!

Thanks again everyone, I really do appreciate every post!

Great job. You look great. Change up your workout. Walk one week and ride a bike or use the eliptical the next week. Lower weights higher reps for the weight training. Maybe change something in your diet?
