I am 20, I had my son 2yrs ago and have tried everything to lose the weight. I am 14stone (196lbs) and am miserable being the size and shape I am. I need to lose the weight to make myself happy and make myself feel better about who I am. I miss the days when I could go out in a nice number, and feel sexy, confident, and know that I am looking fabulous.

Got to do this...gona be honest

Day 1: Breakfast was a bit naughty....I have a sausage sandwich..I forgot I had started the diet, and was reminded halfway through my lovely breakfast, when I opened my laptop and saw this site! Oops!!!

Lunch was respectable, 2 bitesize sausage rolls, and 2 pears. wasn't too hungry after that..but managed 3 mini choc eggs...(by this point I had figured I really wasn't doing too well)

For dinner, I realised I had mucked up the other two meals...so I had rice, peppers, and onions, with some peppered sauce....was gooooooood!!!

I am not going to have anything for the rest of the night, though am considering drinking a good few glasses of water and some tea...not had enough fluids today.

Will update again tomorrow! (Unless I am naughty again this evening and have something to eat.....

Merged this new thread into your existing diary thread -- just amkes it easier for you to keep track of your adventures in once place...

Are you keeping track of your calories in any kind of online food journal site?

You might want to be honest everyday
and even though you might mess up one meal, make the next one better, fully realizing that you can change what you want to change. If you want this than you need to be honest with yourself. We have mess ups, but don't just give in and possibly make them worse, quickly get back on the wagon and rethink your food and what could have done better and plan what you going to eat next.

You might want to keep calories counted, that might help you. I figure I can eat whatever I want in moderation and as much as that sounds good. I am doing better with out the chocolate and junk food. The cholesterol filled crapy. Be honest on this forum and you will see your pattern and be able to end the cycle and get down to the nitty gritty.

and you may want to write your goals and pros and cons to losing weight

is that chocolate really worth the harm it is doing to your waistline and health?
You can ask questions before you eat. Be mindful of what you are putting in your mouth. but dont be ashamed of yourself if you mess up, just pick up the pieces and move on to the next meal, which you try to do better. Start slow and you will win the race with a steady pace eventually

but honesty is the best policy. Are you really doing what you can to change your lifestyle and way you eat?
How bad do you want this?

write your goals down and the pros and cons, you may find it helpful

and read the sticky threads. After almost a year, I have finally been reading the sticky threads, and finally losing more weight than I ever have before, in a quick amount of time

best wishes
always

I have written down what I am going to eat tomorrow for breakfast, lunch and dinner...am going to do this with my mum each night from now on cos she wasnt best pleased with what I had today!

So, goal -wise, i want to lose this weight, look and feel fabulous, and I want the confidence back! I want to fit in my pre pregnancy clothes again, I want to generally have a healthier lifestyle so I can keep up with my son!

I think the main problem I have with my eating habits, is because I'm at home all day looking after my youngest brother, and my son, I get the urge to snack, cos I'm bored...but I think if I just do some of the exercises I'll fill up more of my time, and the boys will join in too! I have an exercising ball, so I will use that, get myself toned whilst losing the weight.

maleficent...where can I find one of those calorie counters?

Google "online food journal" and you'll find a ton of them...

Just make sure you're being honest about what you're enterin -and weigh and measure your food...

Day 2....so far is going well, I had a banana for breakfast, and instead of snacking, im chewing gum, and doing exercise! well...i suppose once I get into the routine it'll be easier. I'm kind of enjoying the hungry feeling I have, I think I might be able to keep this up!

I have heard that fibre drinks are good to use if your are trying to lose weight...is this true?

Dinner tonight is probably going to be porridge...i love porridge and it means I wont be hungry an hour later! It will keep me full for longer, and I've just checked the calories....seems like I should be living on this stuff!!! I'm going to have an apple and a banana with it though, so I've had some more fruit today

Will update later, if someone could let me know about the fibre drinks, it would be very helpful!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by fiber drinks...

Are tehy going to help you lose weight? Not really - as meal replacements, drinks like slim fast are lower calories than regular meals and that's what causes the weight loss - not the drink itself.

You're better off planning ahead and getting your fiber from real food - real food is far more satisfying than a drink is...

True,

I have opted for eating porridge for breakfast and dinner accompanied by fruit, then for lunch I'm going to have a salad of some kind...probably what ever salad bits I have in the house!

Am drinking lots of water, as much as my body will allow me to drink lol.

I have done VERY well today! ate my porridge, ate my salad sandwich, no mayo, butter or salad cream...just tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. Was delicious!

Am so happy with myself!

Though this sat will be interesting...it's my sons 2nd birthday..and I'm having a party for him. There will be alot of tempting food...I have said to my friend who is coming to give me a hand that I am not to have anything that will ruin my diet, and hes a hard nut who won't let me get away with it cos he knows how much this means to me!

*excited!!!*
