Hello,

I am new here, and have decided to start a journal because I hope that, being public, I will feel like I am going to be held accountable for my promise to myself!

I have been on and off trying to lose some weight, but I can't keep the motivation. Since November 7 2016 I have tried that bit harder, and at that time weighed 86kg. On 18 Jan 2017 I was 82.2. That's the best I have done so far .

I have slacked off again the past week (a lot of dinners and events) and so I haven't weighed myself since 30 Jan (82.9) because I am worried my likely weight gain (be it small) will be disappointing and not motivating.

So, I started going for walks this week. Monday and Tuesday I walked for an hour (5km each), and did some weights and stomach exercises on Mon and Weds. But I am not going to weigh myself until next week because I decided that's when I am going to really START. The weather forecast here is much too hot (40c predicted) for the rest of the week, and I know that will put me off, and so I want to start after this.

My first goal is to get to 75kg, I hope by mid May (I have an event so I am using this as a motivator) and I would like to get to 70kg by the end of the year.

I hope to update this weekly at the very least with updates on my weekly progress. Open to any tips and advice as I go :)

Welcome to the forum! Good plan to only weigh weekly - our weight fluctuates so much! Lucky you for gorgeous weather..the cold always puts me off exercising!
