Well I finally reached half of my 50 lb start goal so I decided it was time to post some progress pics. The one on the right is me at 223.5 in May of 2009 and the one of the left is me at 198 today, October 04, 2009. Hoping to hit the second half of the goal by January 31, 2010!!

Wow, great job ! Big difference, especially in the face. I've lost about 25 lbs too (24 actually), I noticed a big difference in my face too.

Thanks so much for the kind words guys, it really means a lot!! I worked hard so it is very nice to hear those things!!

Good work! Can really see an overall difference.

I look forward to seeing your 'after' photos.

What methods are you using?

Keep it up!

Thanks everyone!! To answer a few questions... I have been getting my results by following a close calorie count, usually between 1300-1700 a day and trying to keep my nutrients at the correct levels. I am using a program on my computer to help track it. I usually do cardio about 3-4 times a week either walking 40 minutes or stationary bike for 30 minutes and I am only 5'3".

And again, thanks for all the support!!!!

Sounds pretty good - but may I suggest that you start adding some sort of strength training to your workouts? You need that to maintain your muscle mass which otherwise will be lost as you lose fat.

Yes, I agree that is exactly what I should be doing! However, a couple years ago I had a surgery and in July of this year, I developed an incisional (sp?) hernia. My doctor said no weight training until a month after my surgery and I am not even booked in for it until January 2010. Does anyone have any ideas of something I can do to compensate, or does anyone have any suggestons?

Thank you!!

You should take your doctor's advice and hold off until early next year. By then you'll probably be down to your goal weight and can start focusing on toning up! :)

Yes you are probably right...well I guess I won't have to deal with the gaining from muscle part for a while! lol I thought maybe swimming might help it a bit so I might try to add that to the routine as well.
