19 Year old guy looking to lose weight/gain muscle. (pics)

Hey everybody. I am a 19 year old guy whose life used to be pretty much used to be work/school then go home and hit the couch, eat and watch TV. I've been working on getting more active and eating better. I topped out at 220 lbs. last summer and now I am down to about 175. However, I want some more muscle definition, and I have some flabby skin that I am trying to burn off... I have a picture here that was taken a couple of months ago, its the link below, I was about 185 pounds in it, so I have lost about 10 pounds since that pic, but you will be able to see the problem areas, mostly around the stomach/waist, and pecs. I am starting to get a little definition in my upper arms when I flex. What would be some good exercises to work these areas? I have been doing sit-ups and push-ups as well as a little weight lifting. Thanks.

Pretty simple - Just stick with your high intensity interval cardio with weight lifting. Do super sets, Which is instead of doing one exercises then having a 20-30secs break and doing another set, you do one exercise then move straight onto the next exercise. Do 10-15 reps of each set, and do 3 sets of each exercise.

So in your case i would do...

Bench press then push ups. 10-15 reps of each exercise, 3 times.

You'll sweat alotttt and that fat would burn off. You need to be pushing yourself to sweat and feel that burn in your muscles. If you've been working out a lot resonantly then try to change your exercises.

Eat ya salads as well :D ha

I would not suggest you concentrate on just one section of your body.

Improving your entire muscle definition and cardiovascular system will make you a fat burning machine.

Example full body routine: (3 days per week)
-------------------------------------------

5-10 minute warm-up.

DB Shrugs.
DB Lateral Raise.
DB Alternating Bicep Curls.
Reverse Flies.
Flat Bench Press.
Crunches/Situps.
Back Hyper Extensions.
Body Weight Squats.
Calfe Raises.

Full body static stretching routine.

20 minute interval cardio session.

Also, a good way to reduce flabby since is to build muscle to fill up the loose skin. Build up your chest and upper back and build up your abs and lower back...the shoulders will help a lot too.

Awesome, thanks for the advice... so how long should it take before I start seeing results? Is there a chance that I will have at least a decent-enough looking body to go to the beach this summer?
