Hullo, everyone :)

Thought I might as well start this.

Basics:

I'm an Eastern Asian 16-year old girl, and I'm about 5'7"~8" and basically in the mid-180 lbs. I recently joined.

Thursday: *start* Ran on the treadmill 1 mile, nonstop at 5mph. 185.2lb
Friday: Ran on the treadmill 1 mile, nonstop at 5mph. Scale malfunctioning
Saturday: Walked/Ran on the treadmill 1 mile, nonstop but at 3~6 mph. [was feeling sick]
Sunday: (today) ran on the treadmill 1 mile, nonstop at 5~6mph. 183.2lb

I know that weight goes up and down 1~3 lbs a day randomly, so I'm not exactly psyched or surprised at the teeny 2lb loss since Sunday. :p I'm just proud that it's my fourth day sticking to this...I have trouble sticking to exercise plans, obviously.

Keep it going, I don't own a treadmill so I jog outside
You may not lose a lot of weight the first few weeks but once your body gets the hang of it, you'll notice a change

On Monday I couldn't run because I finished everything at 2 a.m. (& didn't want to wake up my mom with the sound of the treadmill).

On Tuesday I again ran a mile at 5-6 miles an hour.

I feel like Louis from "Holes". "The first hole is the hardest...the second hole is the hardest...etc."

Stickin' to it, though. Gonna run tonight.
 
Eastern Asian? So what are ya?!?! hehehehehe

welcome to the diary section of the forum! For the first few weeks, in my experience, the weight comes off relatively fast! but after that, it might slow down, but don't give up!

Keep up with the treadmill! What's your diet like? short-term goal?
 
the chinese/japanese/korean sort of asian. lol

my diet is mostly healthy [im not picky& like veggies] but its the portion i have trouble with. i simply eat too much and too fast!!

my ultimate goal is to cut down to 140~150lb, but for now i'll be grateful to get to 160lb, by then which I will be "normal" on the BMI meter (right now I'm 1 point away from getting to obese).

How has the jogging/run been? I was biking today and wow I' am tired.
Let us know how your day went and how your doing =)

PS-your a little younger and a tiny bit taller than me..and I think we both have the same things in common.
I'm 5'6 and 158 pounds trying to be 130 in two months but my goal is to be 120! C'mon we can do it =)

Wednesday- I don't know why, but I ran out of breath QUICK. I still walked at a fast pace a mile.

Today- not home yet. I'm going to do it as soon as I get home so I don't get too tired later.
 
Thursday- Walked/ran a mile at diff. speeds.
Friday- Ran at 5mph 1.5 mile to make up for the past few days' walking.

The first mile was extremely hard, but the last .5 mile was not that hard. :)

I weighed myself and got 182.8lb after shower. I think I was 179 yesterday (I was rather psyched), but I guess few pounds move around real quickly.

What do you guys do when running on a treadmill?
 
When I started jogging I became out of breath very quick which was upsetting. but, maybe you gotta let your body adjust to this new thing.
 
I somehow hurt my left leg last night, so I had to stop after 1/2 mile. I did some sit ups instead& got acupuncture on my leg. :(

I dislike it when I have to stop, my leg has been acting odd, not only my leg but at times my tummy. I get a little sick and just when I return home I'm better *arrg*
Take it easy thought rest when needed
 
Okay, I ran/walked a full mile tonight. :)

It's midnight! Gotta take shower and go to sleep.

&& I definitely try to eat a bit less lately. I didn't have lunch yesterday (I'm not starving myself; I simply didn't have time), had very little dinner due to bad cooking. Today, I had a brunch (that's self-explanatory, isn't it?) but dinner, we ate really early & I ate less than usual.

And, most importantly, I'm not very hungry. :) I feel good.

I know a mile a day doesn't help losing weight drastically, though. :( But for now, I'm taking it steady and making this a long-term thing rather than "I-gotta-get-fit-by-certain-date" thing.
