That's awesome FG! Excellent weight loss, and great that you are sticking to something this long. I know this experience... I remember when I first started losing weight (after slowly, through the years, my weight increased from 76 to 106 kg). Starting to lose weight was also the first time that I stuck something longer than a few weeks (by my own choice and on my own legs). In fact, now I remember, it was really an exercise, that made me stronger mentally when I really needed it.. when I was in the darkest moment of my life. It taught me that I do have control over my life, and I exercised discipline, and developed hope that things could change for the better.

So, what I can tell you from experience is that you are not just losing weight. It's MUCH more profound than that. You are learning lessons that you can take with you for the rest of your life; you are developing a strong character and mindset!

Glad to hear that!

Here are some more things that I would want someone to tell me years ago when I started....

Don't forget to be patient with yourself. Results will come. First there should be a good process, that you can develop step by step, improving it on the way. And the best starting point is to do all of it because you choose to love and respect yourself, no matter how you look or feel. But because you choose that you deserve that. From that, everything follows; that you want to take good care of yourself, so losing weight is good, but also to do it in a good way. And being patient with yourself also flows right from the choice of respecting yourself.

And if you choose to love and respect yourself, and you are patient (and thus allow yourself to make mistakes), you will also learn to trust yourself.

Anyways, you will learn your own lessons. These are some of the most profound and useful lessons that I learnt, some may be the same for you, some different, but anyways, learning it from experience is so much more powerful than me telling it to you. So you can look forward to that!

Enjoy the journey! :)

& you are an example of someone who is sticking with it & staying determined. Well done FG!

Just to keep everyone updated - I have now lost 61lbs (in 13 weeks). I am super happy with that and I am beginning to notice snall changes to my body but huge changes to my mindset. I can remember writing my first entry in this blog and hoping to god that i would be able to stay on track and stay determined. it's safe to say that i certainly am determined - losing one pound at a time! x

Hi - I just wanted to pop into your diary to say hello.

You are doing absolutely brilliantly.

61 pounds towards into your 170 target...

Its lovely to see more people from the UK here - nice to see people thinking in stones... Whereabouts are you - I'm in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I read right through - and saw how your project has developed. I may even try those heck sausages for myself since they seem to get such a good rep...

You maybe don't have the full 170 to lose in total... I know that on my big project I re-evaluated and ended up needing a stone less than I first thought of... You might be nearer than you think...

Just a quick update to let everyone know that I am still on track and have lost 70lbs now... hitting the 5 stone mark felt awesome! I can fit in loads more chairs and don't panic as much now!!

Just checking in to tell you guys that i've passed the six stone mark and have now lost 86lbs. When I started my journey i had no idea i would be able to stick to it as long as I have. I'm starting to feel proud of myself :) Moving around seems much easier now - i'm not gasping for air after climbing the stairs and getting up from the floor is easy! I don't think i'd be as resulctant to visit the GP, dentist or opticians anymore as I am less fearful that they would tell me bad news or i wouldnt fit in the chairs etc!! I'm honestly happier and much healthier now. Thank you all for being part of my journey!

Great news! You should be very proud of yourself :) Thank you for letting us know & letting us be a part of your journey xoxo Cate
