Hey, this is my first post, i have kind of been lurking around here for a while and thought i would finally post something.

So these are some before and after photos, long story short i used to play ice hockey in high school, got hurt, and couldnt play sports anymore. So i got really depressed, and out of shape really fast.

About two years ago, a friend of mine told me she was starting to go to the gym and wanted me to go with her. So i went and got really into it, and am now trying to get back into shape and get healthy.

Befores:
These are at my heaviest, 300lbs im only 5'8" so thats really bad :(

It was a lot of work, and i still have more to do. My goal is to get down to 160, wish me luck. :)

Wow congratulations! Good job! You look good at that size but if you want to lose more go for it. Good job!

thanks guys, yes lots and lots of hard work. Yea im still gonna get down to 160, ive started doing some light weight training lately. But i feel soo much better now, have gone from a size xxl shirt, to a large now, size 44 pants, to size 34.

wow man, that's impressive, how long did it take you from when you started going to the gym to when you hit 200?

What a difference! I bet you feel it too!

Grand job keep it up! You look fine as you are btw

And Tool are the best. :coolgleamA:

heh yes tool does rule. But the way i did it, i didnt follow a diet plan or anything. I pretty much just made better choices when eating.

Eating a lot of salads, a lot of things made with whole wheat. Lots of fruits and veggies. But it was all common sense stuff, everyone knows its better for you to eat something like a salad instead of a cheese steak, or a bag of chips.

And i exercise at least five days a week, some times more if im feeling up to it. I also drink lots and lots of water, which i think is pretty key. If you feel really hungry and crave something just drink a bottle of water, at least that works for me. Or if i got cravings for stuff, i would chew a bunch of sugar free gum. Thats just stuff that would work for me heh.

I think it just comes down to you really have to want to change, you cant look at weight loss as a diet, you just have to change the way you eat completely. I mean i still eat crappy food every now and then, and i think you should, dont drive yourself completely crazy. Everything in moderation.

Sorry that got a little long winded, im sure its stuff thats been said before. I wish everyone luck in their weight loss pursuits.:)

your story is very motivational...please continue on and post more pics so to further motivate myself and others...
