1 Year Later - 400 to 250

Very well done, and inspirational indeed- what triggered such determination for you? I found this site back in April and just seeing threads like this one, with amazing transformations really helped me for a month or so but as have so many others I've slipped back into old habits... really need to find that trigger!

Good job!

Thank you all for the kind words. It's surreal to hear that I might be an inspiration for others after looking up to many of you guys on this same forum.

You are da' man !!! :) Your looking freaking great !

I know what your saying about only being half way there though.

Same here.... I've lost just shy of 80 lbs in the last 9 months myself (90 would have been about the max for me, but I seem to have hit a plateau, and for now, I'm okay with that). And that was all fine and good, but now I want to be buffed, and ripped ! :) So, I'm working out like a mad man, myself.

I think yours (and mines) ideas about turning towards fitness training now, is the very best thing to keep us challenged !

Anyway, you (and I) have come too far, to ever let this slip away !

Stay on it man !

You look amazing! Like a completely different person. I reallly hope I look like a different person at the end of this journey, lol. Keep up the killer work :) So many people are using you as their poster boy now ;)

I did most of my weight loss through strict dieting and cardio (walk/jog 5 miles per day, every day). No fast food, No soda, No junk food, No sugars. 3 healthy meals a day, and alot of water (1500-2000 calories give or take). That's all.

Your pics tell a thousand words. Congratulations. Tell me, although I understand WHAT you did to lose the weight, what helped you to "hold on" to your goals, as I assume you tried losing before, yet this time worked for you?

mark, you seem to be looking for the answer that only you will know. No one can tell you what will motivate you, you have to find that within yourself.. what motivated me or this guy will not work for you.

look deep and look hard, its in there. make it happen

Awesome Job

Seriously buddy, you have made quite the accomplishment here...and you did it alone. Ever watch the Biggest Loser? When I lost all my weight I watched it in the gym while on the treadmill. I used to think, "I can't believe these people are on TV and getting all these prizes and I am doing it myself unsupported!" And you did it. You are a real inspiration and all the best on keeping this going.

I tried alot when I was younger and relatively overweight maybe even obese but I was not yet morbidly obese. Honestly I reached a point in my life where I stopped caring, I ate anything and everything. It didnt matter if it tasted good or if I was full or not, at that point in my life I felt there was no return. I stopped trying.

When I was totally fed up with what I had become I decided to give it everything I had, when I would drive my McDonalds on the way home from work I would look at it and keep going. I did not allow myself to cheat for even a meal, I dont really know what to say besides that. The only person who can motivate someone to lose weight and stick to their diet is themselves. Anything is possible, I never could have dreamed that I would be where I am today. And it feels like yesterday I started.

Here's another pic of me at around 255 a month into 4x a week gym training, nothing substantial yet but might as well add another pic.

You look super cute! Well done on your weight loss, you look like a completely different person! Very inspiring.

EXCELLENT! You are an inspiration. I am 32 6'3" 350lb and have been searching the net for someone of my statures weight loss story. It is VERY inspiring to hear that you did it in 1 year! If you have any major tips other than the obvious eat well and exercise common sense shoot me an email.

Just take it one day at a time man, you cant change yesterday. If you cheated then try to not let it happen again dont beat yourself up over it. Just do what you can, and the cliche is true where there is a will there is a way.

WOW. you look like a completely different person. extremely inspirational, you should be very very proud of yourself!

Bump, Updated OP with some new pictures of me 6 months into training.
