Don't try this at home

I like that deadlift circuit. That's something I definitely want to try. You're giving me so many ideas.

That circuit really put the dead in deadlift. I was considering putting up a list of body parts that are aching, then realised the list of those not would be empty and decided against it.
Today will contain just over 10 miles of running in two separate runs. There has to be a point when intelligence says doing that while your body is telling you standing up is too much effort is a bad idea.
Get the weekend to recover, sort of.

Haha, I like that philosophy. I'm just waiting to leave here - do probably around 5 miles on the treadmill and hope my knee forgives me in time for the 10 miles I plan to do on Sunday!

Never give up on the idea. I know that being 14 stones and running 8mph are not a realistic combination, but much of what I do is considered unrealistic by the majority of people. I also like my unrealistic targets, they feel so good to achieve. I was getting a regular 7.75 - 7.8 before coming down ill so there is a possibility that 8 will come back. 10mph is a dim and distant memory but so is the 9 stone scrawny runt that used to do this regardless of the distance, an acceptable trade off.

One thing I am going to need to invest in is something to stop chaffing. Building up to be prettier for the better half has it's cost. The arms she likes seeing return are rubbing against my lats and vest and the top of my inside legs are rubbing like heck. I don't think walking like John Wayne getting off a horse is a good look. I don't notice it much while I am running, used to blocking things out, but afterward I feel like someone has rubbed chilli into my skin in those areas.
I don't know if you, Tom or Jeny for that matter have any suggestions. Summer is approaching which means the sweating mess makes an appearance a bit earlier in the run and I will be chaffing even longer.

Well being useless at monitoring aesthetic progress continues. I weighed in the last 2 weeks and didn't log any of them, Doh!

Consistency like this is not ideal when looking for improvement but in fairness there were a couple of take away meals in there, so I deserved far worse.

Pizza good. Breakfast is 2 of the 5 most important meals of the day so it's important to have something nutritious in them. I see no problem with pizza, then again in my early twenties I saw nothing wrong with eating most of a 2kg bar of Galaxy milk chocolate either. Good job I keep fit, if I hadn't I would have diabetes for certain with my previous diet, much better now but I still like my sweet food.

I really need to do what I used to and keep a loaf of wheat bread and some deli turkey at work. For a while there I wasn't even eating breakfast. I wasn't lifting, so I didn't have the hunger. Now that I'm lifting again, and more because I'm doing it at home, when I wake up at 3am to feed my son, daddy has to have a little something too. Don't even get me started on being hungry for breakfast. I wish I would have had time to throw together a couple natural peanut butter sandwiches before I left this morning instead of just grabbing left over pizza.

Workplace full of blokes with conversation rarely above sewer, this was interesting to read. Was obviously thinking in terms of natural feeding.
Sorry. We have some very inappropriate conversations here, a group of totally hetero men most of us married and very multicultural. There is more flirting between us and racist comments than anywhere I have ever known, most of the anti race comments from the race themselves. There is undoubtedly a line somewhere, we haven't found it yet. Sort of conversations that should see all of us in front of HR is considered warm up material.
We have our Spanish fashion guru who takes great delight in telling us if we look like a Spanish homosexual, obviously he has a lot of experience with them. We have a German starting soon and if he's anything like some of them I met when I was there the dark humour will get pitch black in no time.

I can see where my comment threw you off, not knowing that my son has allergies and is on prescription formula, but yes, I get up at 3 a.m. to breast feed my son.

Not a good allergy to have. At least formula stuff is a lot better than it used to be.
We were very lucky with our son. He is physically in incredible health, no issues at all. He's Asperger's but so are about half my office with and without diagnosis and they are brilliant. Admittedly when they needed space in head office we were top of the list to move to a new building and there is no plan to have us back, so others may not agree, but I don't tend to seek popularity.
We have a great household wife and son both Asperger's so no social skills and would happily not have to deal with people pretty much ever, and one hyperactive who has aggression on tap. Add that I work with a group of certifiable geniuses with dark humour issues and it's not always great to introduce me to 'normal' people, I tend to end up wondering why they are so slow and easily offended.
Not sure if my future holds retirement or accommodation with long sleeved cardigans and comfy wallpaper.

You are right, the John Wayne walk is not attractive on anyone. Chaffing is tough - I know people who swear by BodyGlide but it didn't do anything positive for me or Tom. I've used petroleum jelly successfully once I had a sore spot, but so much better to stop them. Nylon or other synthetic shorts work well for the saddle issue although cotton underwear can undo the positives. Being female, no underwear works well for me, most men, not so much. I think I remember reading somewhere in a discussion about workout clothes that you go with somewhat oversized stuff, but maybe that was just for the strength training? IMO running gear should actually fit well - too much or too little fabric causes problems because it does rub. The underarm thing is tough. It might not just be clothing, but what the clothing was washed in. Many detergents, particularly those with fragrances to "keep clothing fresher longer" are tough on skin. Consider one for sensitive skin. Again, I have less trouble with synthetic shirts than cotton when it comes to rubbing despite a general life preference for cotton.

Thanks for that. Some stuff to try. I have synthetic running shorts with lining. Might look into how we clean them, they are also old now. Might look into body glide, see what goes.

Happy with this. See how well intervals go tomorrow.

Not to divulge too much information, but when I used to run, I went commando, and I never had a problem. A little Gold Bond goes a long way as well.
