Don't try this at home

I don't think it's that side I would have to be worried about. I am pretty sure there are laws against swinging free in public. I don't think I would have got away with declaring they were seventies style fluffy dice either.
Have my shorts today so no excuses.

What, you don't run in short shorts? It's so liberating.

My shorts are short, that's no problem, in fact the amount of my legs that are visible when running is often commented on/ ridiculed by colleagues. This would have been total lack of shorts or any clothing between waist and ankles, bells and pull cord swinging about aren't a good idea, would expect some bruised bells after ringing constantly for over 5 miles too.

No excuses today had shorts meaning only two legs on display and went for a run.

Working with a bunch of software specialists meant that a few of them needing access to a set of drawers that wouldn't open was a process worthy of taking a few photos. The guy taking them, and they are comical, saw me at the doorway wondering what the hell was going on and decided me in running gear was as hilarious as the events he was recording.
As such there is a photo which I have cropped of me standing vacantly in a doorway in my running gear holding a rucksack. I thought with the recent stuff it could be appropriate, especially as yesterday even a shot this blurred would have been too indecent.
There is no before and after shot, but just imagine the picture here with red skin and looking like a bucket of water has been dropped on him and thats the general idea.

*comes back to this screen an hour or so later*

I think I'm in the wrong log. This is both more embarrassing and less entertaining than that time I was in the wrong toilet, and then the girl walked in and was horrified.

I think I'm in the wrong log. This is both more embarrassing and less entertaining than that time I was in the wrong toilet, and then the girl walked in and was horrified.

Had you confused the sink for a urinal again? Remember having soap blocks doesn't make it a sink, that is where the taps are.

Heheh...in this instance, the girls toilets and the boys toilets looked identical on the inside, so when I made the wrong turn, I didn't notice until I was washing my hands (in the urinal?). So, nothing was seen that was overly traumatic/exciting for her.

In today's age of camera phones likely a good thing.
Technology is a great thing in many ways but I am glad everything stupidly embarassing I did was before all of that was common place. It's one thing old friends knowing about it, quite another videos appearing on you tube.

Some years ago, my friends and I were in a dimly light bar that I never had been to, and I was living in the bottom of the bottle that night, and every time I had to go to the bathroom, they kept telling me "It's the first door on the right", so naturally, I kept going in the first door on the right. Needless to say, I used the womens rest room about 4 times without realizing it before the female bartender had to come out and show me to the mens room. In my defense, the mens and womens rest rooms in this place are exactly the same. It was quite embarrassing, but we all struck up a friendship with her, and that became our "regular" bar to go to.

Blame the alcohol, it can't defend itself! We've all made the error. One place I was at a guy had an audible go at a woman for being in the wrong toilet until pointed out it was the ladies. He'd obviously destroyed any chance of subtle exit.

Moving target time.

At the beginning of the year I set out my ridiculous targets and knew that many if not all of them wouldn't be reached, as is often the case. This time it was made all the more ridiculous by trying to achieve things requiring my body to work in opposing directions.
The year isn't over but things that have happened good and bad have forced a rethink and I have abandoned the initial ridiculous targets in favour of some that would have seemed ridiculous a few years ago and others I wouldn't have been thinking of until recently.
Injury to my back forced me to take things easy on it for a while and meant PB on deadlift and squat was not realistic, bench not happening either but I have largely dumped that in favour of getting used to new kit and building up areas that used to be my strength but other areas have caught up to.
Subsequently I have set myself targets of deadlift 120kg with fat grips and farmers walk with 70kg as side plus handles, along with getting used to working with the new kit in general.
Running has a minimum standard of 7.5mph and had ridiculous target of 8mph, which I got close to but haven't hit. I have however noticed that despite not being able to gain weight easily virtually ever I am doing so now so the target is to keep above 7.5mph minimum while gaining weight.

Seems like a thoughtful re-assessment which is good, but if any part of this has to do with feeling old - well just stop it! OK, I'm done with the wise old elder thing... glad you are enjoying the new fitness toys!

Age wasn't even a consideration.
The fact I have been gaining weight consistantly for the last year and a half has been and that is new for me. I never thought I would be interested in this but it is interesting to see if I can get to a weight that I could never have dreamed of years ago.
I have been regaining strength I haven't had since doing this as a virtually sole trainng style and being able to apply it in ways I hadn't considered. This while still running over 20 miles a week and keeping consistant pace.
The injury was a scare but if anything made me realise how little age is effecting me. To have got back to the level I have within 6 months is something most half my age wouldn't be able to do, because most don't train. I came close to redamaging it again a few weeks ago so know it's not fully fixed so change of goals will help here.
One thing age has given me that only time really does is a range of ability and experience. The confidence I am feeling in stuff I have only recently started is good, still feel like a beginner in a lot of ways with it but the gains are quicker than I could have imagined.

I understand the need to get back from injury. Hurting my back in July and being out of dead lifting for two months has been the longest injury break I have taken, but it's good that I did because had I rushed it, I would have severely injured myself.
