Exercise and calorie intake.

I thought you clearly said you didn't eat after working out and strictly not after 7:00 because your not hungry?

I mean, it's good that you don't have food cravings and it's also good you eat because you have to...This means you should eat healthy, because it really doesn't matter to you...Rather than being that person who eats cookies and McDonald's all day, lol

Just have the whey protein shake after you workout and a balanced meal a little after that. As long as you keep the calories under maintenance, you will lose fat off your body. The concept is to just do it slowly so you lose less muscle. Although, i don't think you'll really lose much, if any...Unless you start eating 1000 calories a day...Please don't do this, lol.

You seem to have the concept down already and your meal plan wasn't bad.

That's what I wanted to hear! I wanted to make sure I was following the right route. I'm not looking to lose weight- I'm just looking to build more muscle mass and to get any body fat that I have down and wanted some help with perfecting my diet. Appreciate your help!

You won't be building more muscle mass, but losing fat. You should maintain the muscle you have by working out. Gaining muscle while on a calorie deficit really isn't possible...Although, you will look more defined. So, continue and do so. :)

Only way to gain muscle is to eat more calories than you burn.
But, you will also gain a little fat and that is not what you want right now!

So, continue what your doing and you'll be happy with the results! :grinning:

First, make sure you buy whey ISOLATE. Isolate gives you higher protein content, and it digests better and causes less bloating (I'm sensitive to whey protein concentrate... has me running to the washroom quite often)

As for the name brand... the hell with name brand.
Buy it in bulk, works out much cheaper. They even have stevia as a sweetner option (Make sure you pick it!)

you can even buy taste-less protein and use it to make high-protein muffins.

I got the Isolate. I went for convenience and bought it from GNC - Vanilla Ice Cream or something like that. It's ok. If you know of a better flavor to try I will.
I'm throwing it in the blender with water, banana or frozen fruit and ice.

That works too.

I always buy name brand stuff...Sure i spend the money, but I don't really care. =)

Kind of like why I'm getting an M3 over a standard BMW. Does it really matter? Nope...One is just faster and more reputable.

And see, I chose the Benz over the BMW since it was less than a mile away. I'm all about convenience no matter what the cost.

Really, you have a benz? Nice, what year and model?

My buddy just got an SL65 AMG. (Rich b@stard, lol) His car is awesome...Honestly, it makes me feel like my car is trash...I just don't have the money for a 100,000 car...

I initially bought the 2000 SLK230 but realized that I can't drive it in the snowy season so I also got the 2003 ML320 for the winter season and as my tow truck. What's funny though- I pretty much walk everywhere since I'm so close in to town. I love the ML though. I looked at the used X3 and X5 but at the time they were both out of my price range (over $30k) and the dealership was too far from my house.
Yeah, I agree.. $100,000 for a car in this economy right now isn't a great idea.

I really like the X5, that's a nice SUV. You can't go wrong with your ML though. That was a good choice and i personally like the interior a little better. The ML just has a cleaner interior look...That's funny that you walk everywhere, but at least your keeping low miles! It will hold a better value when you decide to upgrade.

My friend is just one of those rich kids and money has been passed down...I'm not taking anything away from him, but his dad drives an Aston Martin and the mom drives a Cayenne Turbo...I mean come on...lol

For example my SLK only has 44,000 miles on it and I bought it brand new in 2000.

That's quite a lineup your friends family has. When I was growing up we never had european cars- just the basic Fords and Chevrolets and they were mostly USED. Now days it's hard enough just keeping up with the Jones'.

When are you getting your car?

Oh and btw- I had my protein shake immediately after chest/back day and forced a salad down shortly after. I'm a picky eater so I'm going to need to get some cottage cheese or something to go with my salad. Or turkey. Or something because I really don't care for chicken.

Did you add a banana into your protein shake? It's a good idea to have some sort of carb/sugar. If you can't, it's fine. It would just be optimal to do so. You should try and like chicken, lol. It really is one of the best protein sources...But, if you don't like it, don't eat it...Turkey is fine and so is steak. But, i would only have steak once a week. What about fish? Seafood is loaded with protein...You can add shrimp and Tilapia in your diet. This would be an excellent choice, but just a bit more expensive.

I actually almost bought it yesterday. But, my friends and family convinced me that i should wait until I'm through with basic training and then get it...(Navy) This way i don't have to ship my car off...This is a better idea, but it's so tempting to get it now! I suppose 2 months really isn't that long and it will pay off...I might get a better deal, or find something else I'm interested in.

Yes, I added a banana and like 6 ice cubes. I also have frozen fruit. I'll stick with seafood then (salmon, shrimp, scallops) and turkey every now and then. I also just ordered the 16 pack of flavors from ON to try others out.

Where's your basic training? Annapolis?

Sounds like you have the perfect recipe for success! Frozen fruit and seafood is an awesome way to go.

No, it's in Great Lakes IL. Very close to Chicago. That's the only place where Navy trains now. (Unless your going to OCS) After my first year I'll be going to Newport, Rhode Island for my Officer Candidate School. Schooling is going to take forever...But, it will be worth it! I'm trying to be a Pilot and their is a lot of competition. I'm just glad i got my college out of the way now, because i don't know how you could do it all while enlisted.

I guess the Naval Academy in Annap is academic training? I was confused.
