elbow pain

I have a new pain on the outside of my elbow, I have read some threads here about elbow pain but they all refer to pain on the inside of the elbow when doing curls, pullups, etc.

My pain is bad when i do upright rows for my shoulder and when i stretch my forearms by pulling my fingers backward, etc. Any suggestions to what it is or what i can do?

thanks

How long have you been working out??? I had this problem after a long lay off, but it went away with time. Is it more down towards the forearm??? If so then some forearm stretches may do the trick.

I've been working out for about 2 years. I havenet resently taken a layoff, it was the first week of september. The pain started yesterday, it is strictly in my outer elbow especially at the top of upright row.

what makes me nervous is that i have made so much improvements in the last two years, i'm afraid to take time off. What have people doen when they had this injury?

I had severe tendonitis in my elbow, and after spending three months in physio (with zero improvement), I had two ART treatments and I've been fine ever since.

I have been diagnosed with tennis elbow 3 times by my doc. I use ibuprofen to help reduce the inflammation, ice (the more the better), and rest it for up to 2 months. Nothing else works for me. My doctor gave me a cortisone shot once which alleviated the pain but didn't cure the problem.

If you have tennis elbow, and only your doctor can diagnose this, you need to allow sufficient rest to allow it to heal, otherwise you will antagonize it and it will never heal.

what is an ART treatment?

Active release technique. Some massage therapists and chiropractors do it. It is the only treatment that I can say was 100% effective.

My tendonitis got to the point where I couldn't pick up a mug of coffee without horrible pain running through my forearm and into my elbow. It was pretty bad.

My elbow started hurting at work tonight. Pain on the inside of the elbow and a little on the outside. Only hurts when i move it. :(

I've got elbow pain since my wife and I are having problems. And, it was caused by the Active Release Technique! Hmmmm.

Nope, not possible. It's an activity, so Active. There is definitely a release. And, the technique is flawless. It truly is ART.

I agree with you 100% on that :luxlove:
