Subtle Progress

Although I weigh approximately 150lbs being just 5'9", i'm quite cut with solid pecks, trimmed abdominals and shapely biceps. My shoulders are naturally broad.

I'm content with my build, especially considering I was overweight in my mid-teens due to multiple surgeries. My persistence has paid off despite severe depression.

My daily workout entailed: 10 minutes on my indoor cycle using magnetic resistance, 150 assorted crunches working my abdominals and obliques, 50 pushups, 3 sets of 30 assorted lifts on my right arm using 21lb dumbbells, and 3 sets of 35 on my left.

Bear in mind I have two days of rest weekly. I also take multivitamins assisted by protein shakes.

My apologies for the picture lacking something in clarity. I don’t possess a decent camera at present.

You are deserving of a sincere congratulations on your progress.

I think it is possible you could "tweak" your program from what you are doing now and facilitate some additional improvement.

And, we have some sticky threads that could assist you with this.

If you have no other weights, I can provide some info on body weight excerises, and other suggestions you could implement with items around the house.

1. What equipment do you have available? Is it more than what you listed in your first post? Just trying to learn what you have to train with.

2. Have you determined your approximated calories needs?

3. At present what are your goals?

Again, welcome to the forum.

Answer my questions.

Best wishes,

Chillen

I appreciate your response, and to answer your questions directly:

  1. I currently have an array of weights at my disposal, each which are sequentially adjustable. The maximum weight possible on the barbell being 60kg, and the maximum on the dumbbells being 15kg approximately. I also use the aforementioned indoor cycle with adjustable magnetic resistance.
  2. My diet is unspecific at present, but I try to eat healthily despite budget constraints.
  3. I intend to improve upon my abdominals and obliques, and increase the size of my calves and thighs.
I should mention I have incorporated an assortment of stretches taught whilst training Shotokan Karate, to aid in leg flexibility. My Brother-in-Law is an upcoming bodybuilder also, and is at my disposal for further advice.
