Weak core

I believe that I must have a pretty weak core as I have the protruding ab look! I'm a 32 yr female 5'3" 118 lbs 22% bf and pretty much skinny fat if you know what I mean. I've been doing more weight training the last 2 months (following NROL4W) and am starting to see some definintion finally! My abs are slow to respond however. I'm working on a goal of 18% bf as well.

I know there is a lot to our core other than abs... Is is okay to work my abs everyday or do I need to do everyother day like other muscle groups?

Any suggestions would be great! thanks!!
 
The abs recover pretty fast and I don't see an issue with working them directly everyday.

And you're judging this by how sore they are, or is there a new article? I've read they heal quicker, but they still need rest. Everyday is a tad extreme, possibly every other day IF your diet is on point.

Just from what I've read and what I've seen people do.

I don't think the 48-72hour rule applies to abs. Maybe 7 days a week is too much, but you know what I mean.
