What would you do if you didnt have access to weight equipment for 2 weeks on a trip?

I am going on a vacation for two weeks on the 15th of May.

I won't have access to a weight room the entire time.

What would you guys do? I want to get some kind of training in.

If I were you, or your age, I would probably try to meet some girls. Unless its a family reunion, then you're already halfway there because you know all their names :D

HHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I would train hard and then take it easy for the two weeks. Seriously, are you going to bring a barbell with you? I would eat and drink a lot, is what I would do. Maybe have some fun here and there.

Same here...I'd just take a break and take the 2 weeks off from my normal training.

Yeah, take a little time off, and if you want to exercise, play some sports or something. Don't forget that even top athletes take a good break every so often.

You could take some stretch bands with you, and do some minor stretching techniques when you have time; this will do your body good, baby! And, there is nothing wrong with doing some light body weight exercises if you have the space and time.

I take off one week every 6 to 8 weeks regardless, just to allow a total body recovery--it does the body GOOD once in a while, brotha! :) Just think of it as a recovery period and go have a good time for petes sakes!

You're a kid (;)), now go and act like it and go have some fun! Or I kick dat @ss! ;)

I got the same issue :p but ill be away for 5 weeks , my plan is to get come over to the USA and canada loves ya's and leave ya's , eat all the american crap . Then come back to australia and work it all off again :)

I'm going to Lake Tahoe with a few friends. I will see about finding a YMCA down there I suppose, and read into body weight training some.

Also I will be sure to be completely overtrained going into the trip so that I can just recover the whole time, because IF i make it to the YMCA it'd only be once.

In my humble opinion you should try and have the majority of the time off and rest your body. You could do a few odyweight exercises if it is a concern.

Reasons being it can be good for your body to have a break as when you come back you may be able to shock your muscles back into growth and break some plateaus if you have any.

I am having two weeks off at the end of June as I am going on holiday, a few bodyweight exercises should be sufficient. I will be going crazy and consuming a lot of alcohol!

Take the time off, man. Have fun, and don't think or talk about about training while you're with your friends. When you get back, hit the gym hard. If you did lose any strength/size within two weeks (and you probably won't lose much, if any at all) you'll be able to make it back up within days of training once you get back.

Have fun!

When I went out of the country for a few weeks a while back I brought bands, they really helped. But if you're not competing, I'm with Tony, meet some girls.

do some BW stuff. I wouldn't want to go 2 weeks without any work done. You won't start serious detraining, but you don't want your body to get accustomed to not working out.

Or you could do the kind of training where your goal is to completely exhaust yourself and wear your ass out until your performance starts to decrease, and then take the required two week rest after such a protocol. So then you'll just be following your plan.

.... or you could just have a good ol' time and not worry about it. :D

I last track of the thread... :)

Yeah, I think I am going to start a 5 day a week full body program. It's outlined on T-Nation... this one: TESTOSTERONE NATION - Stripped Down Hypertrophy

I think something like that would wear my ass out, then I will just recover most of the time.

I would like to do some type of body weight training though.... have no idea what I could do besides ab work though?
