White men can jump!

Box jumps are a great exercise for the legs, although for training purposes a 24" box is usually sufficient. I was curious if I could jump at least 42" (about chest height on my short, 5'9" ass!) being that I'm just a couple months from 40. Apparently I can.

These were taken in my gym just a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm curious what my top jump would be. I don't have an ideal box, as you can see from the photos. Aerobics steps being slightly stabilized by someone holding them in place is probably not the smartest thing. Don't try these at home, kids!

Nothing at all... It was totally a whim. I do low box jumps in my workout, and while I was doing a photo shoot for a workout manual I'm creating, I got a wild hair and decided to see if I could jump chest high from a standing position.

I do a lot of band work, so I figured I could jump pretty high. My only worry was my left hip, which has been injured for years, so I didn't know how it was going to react. It didn't really bother me though (that day).
