Strange foot pain in the mornings

Pretty much every morning for the past few weeks, I've been getting this zingy pain in my feet when I first step out of bed. It only lasts for a second, and by the time I've taken a couple of steps it's gone. Now I'm dreading getting out of bed each morning because that little bit of pain is very uncomfortable. Does anyone have any ideas of what this could be and how it came about?

It only lasts for a second? it lasts until a couple of steps?

where abouts is the pain.

Yeah, it's only really bad for a second right when I put my feet on the floor and then after a few steps, it fades.

The pain/zingyness is mainly on the ball of my foot.

What kind of pain- like pins and needles type, as when your foot "falls asleep" ?

Good advice. If it hasn't gone on for too long, another thing you might try is doing light massage with a tennis ball. Place it under your foot while sitting down and lightly (work within your pain tolerance) massage the bottom of your foot for 30-60 seconds.

If you can do this for 2-3 days without irritating your foot, you might try this when standing for more pressure. All this should occur without much, if any pain. Otherwise, stop it and get it checked out.

You might also have a triggerpoint(s) in your calves which contributes to your calves to being too tight or referring pain to your foot. Stretching after a triggerpoint or area of tightness has been removed, will get better results than just stretching.
