days between workouts/cardio

I do cardio 3-4 times a week, and I lift 4 times a week. Is there a limit to the number of days between workouts and/or cardio sessions that I should have. For instance, if I run Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, is the 3 day break too much? Would 3 days be too much without working out also? Right now I have the weekend off (Lift mon, tues, thurs, fri) if I everything goes correctly and I chose not to run on Saturday, provided I didn't miss anything during the week. I just want to make sure that 2-3 days without cardio and/or lifting isn't too much rest?

Are you taking a day off? Seems to me you're overtraining a bit. If you're lifting 4 days a week, go with 2 cardio days. Or switch to a 3 and 3. I'm not a big fan of cardio and weight training on the same day.

did you read anything I wrote?...YES, I'm taking days off

listen pal, I was just trying to help. Go back, re-read what you wrote, it's not exactly the picture of clarity. Maybe someone else here will help you, but I won't, figure it out on your own.

other than recovery weeks, or race ready weeks-
meaning when I am in base building, or typical training mode-

I take one day a week off, and I rotate the day. one week, mon, the next tuesday, the next wed and so on.

You're not doing an FBW are you, if so then you shouldn't be lifting two days back to back. I am assuming you are doing a split, if so then you should be fine.

Yeah it's not a FBW. This is my typical week

mon - chest/weighted abs/cardio
tues - legs/back/lower, unweighted abs/cardio
wed - off (sometimes just cardio if I missed a day)
thurs - shoulders/traps/unweighted abs/cardio optional
fri - bi's/tri's/cardio optional
sat - off
sun - off

I know the cardio seems a little out of order, but it's basically just when I feel like doing it. Always at least 3-4x a week though
