A Tribute to RWS

Chillen's Tribute to RWS:

When you stand at the edge of the cliff, jump to fly not to fall.

"Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement."

(Foster C. McClellan)

What's in a name? It depends on how you look at it. Perception can be astonishing.

Some people follow their dreams; others hunt them down and beat them mercilessly into submission.

Have no fear young man. You already possess the internal spirit and desire to see this through. Its in you, and your forum name:

Refined Wisdom and Spirit!

(RWS)

There are people that know what to do when it comes to weight loss and weight gain, but few are able to refine their wisdom and personal spirit and weave this into their life and be successful.

All you have to do is look the the three letters that make your forum name to know you have what it takes.

Did you know that you have "Unlimited Power"? This power is your mind and body; the power within you is so overwhelming that is can be uncontrollable. It is the "application" of this "unlimited power" that presents the problem; however, YOU possess the inner being of self control and its in your forum name.

==========================================================

Young man, dare to dream and take control of yourself. Most importantly, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF:

THE BOTTOM LINE

FACE IT, nobody owes you a living.
What you achieve, or fail to achieve in your lifetime
Is directly related to what you do or fail to do.
No one chooses his parent or childhood,
But you can choose your own direction.
Everyone has problems and obstacles to overcome,
But that too is relative to each individual.
NOTHING IS CARVED IN STONE!

You can change anything in your life
If you want to badly enough.
Excuses are for losers! Those who take responsibility for their actions
Are the real winners in life.
Winners meet life challenges head on
Knowing there are guarantees, and give it all they've got
And never think it's too late or too early to begin.

Time plays no favorites
And will pass whether you act or not
Take control of your LIFE
Dare to Dream and take risks.......
Compete!
If you aren't willing to work for your goals
Don't expect others to.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

(Author Unknown--Chillen Modified)

Nobody ever drowned in sweat!

Believing in yourself, is an endless destination. Believing you have failed, is the end of your journey.

I wish you the best of luck as you progress through Keto.

Wow Chillen.. Thank you so much. I can't believe you would take all that time to write that for me. I really appreciate it... really, it means a lot to me.

Thanks!

After I got out of college today I did a lower body day.. Back, Hams, Quads, calves, and lats.

I also did 15 minutes of HIIT...

I upped the high intensity intervals to 5 instead of 4. It was easier this time. On the very last interval I gave it everything I had and my heart rate got up to 189! Jeez.

Then Tonight at seven I am going to do jumping jacks, bicycling machine, and pacing around my apartment, I'll do this for a couple of hours while watching a tv program.

I'm going to make some major progress tonight..

The cardio went well, I was getting pretty worn out by the end of the session...I created about a 1,000 calorie defecit today through exercise.

This is the breakdown for the day:

Total: Calories 2050
Fat: 135 1211 62%
Sat: 47 427 22%
Poly: 8 72 4%
Mono: 48 429 22%
Carbs: 43 154 8%
Fiber: 5 0 0%
Protein: 151 604 31%
Alcohol: 0 0 0%

18 of those 43 carbs came from my post workout shake, so they don't really count...supposedly.

this is one of the delicious meals I made today..

Mushrooms and onions make everything taste better...

It's a bottom round sirloin, with the mushrooms and onions pan fried in olive oil...

My Fitday Food Journal:

I should have thought of this before... but I made my fitday.com journal public. So now if anybody wants to know what I ate on that day they can go to my public journal and see exactly what I had. I put it on the first post, but I will also post it here.

I went into the gym and did an upper body day today. I did 15 minutes of HIIT after that.

I came home and slammed a protein drink... it was delicious... ha.

Note to self: Don't do HIIT two days in a row while on a calorie defecit.

I keep having nightmares/dreams/thoughts of accidentally biting into a breadstick, piece of pizza, etc. heh.

I bought the book "The Ketogenic Diet" by Lyle Mcdonald.

It is known as "The Bible" for ketogenic diets.

I just started reading it right now... I am looking forward to knowing everything about this diet..

Don't do HIIT two days in a row period? Haha.

It's interesting watching your progress. Keep up the good work. :)

Yeah, your right. When I got on the treadmill I planned on taking it easy, but then I thought "your in here now, make the best of it!" So I did HIIT again.

I think the calorie defecit made the fatigue afterwards more severe, though.

And thanks! I'm glad to hear your watching :)

My weight loss has stopped at 156 pounds. It hasn't budged in 5 days now.

I guess I will have to do more cardio and get a bigger defecit:confused:

I heeded Mrreik's warning (about overtraining) and changed my routine to a lower upper split. It was tough jamming in all those exercises in one session so now I will do..

Monday Lower
Wednesday Upper
Friday Lower
Saturday Upper

I'll do HIIT three times a week, and get some cardio in on my off days I suppose..

My bodyfat test is on Wednesday, I don't know what I'll do if I didn't lose a couple pounds of fat...(hoping it's not just water weight)

I did my lower body day today and then 15 minutes of HIIT afterwards.

I did:

Deadlifts
Squats
Lunges
Lat Pull Downs
Rowing

My legs were pretty sore afterwards.

Tonight I was planning on doing jumping jacks, walking, and biking for three hours. I was beat to **** after two hours and stopped, though.

I wasn't very hungry at all today. My metabolism must be slowing down or something. I've only eaten about 1,550 calories today... but i've burned off quite a few.

What's weird is that I feel really fat right now, maybe it's because i've had so much water.. I don't know. I weigh a lot too.

My bodyfat test is tommorrow...

I really hope that at least 2 out of the 8 pounds i've lost is fat..

Ideally I would like to just be able to bulk up and not really worry about what I eat....

And then quickly cut off the excess fat I've gained at a rate of a pound or more a week.

So I don't know what I will do if I only lost a half a pound of fat.. it will be mentally harder to bulk up if I know that losing fat is that hard.

Pfft. It just means you've discovered a way that doesn't work. Which is a success! (By virtue of having narrowed the possibilities). :)

That's one way of looking at it.. hm, thanks for the thought.

My metabolism is destroyed. I've only eaten about 1250 calories today and i'm completely full (either that or fitday isn't very accurate on things like fatty steaks).

I am hoping that when I do my first carb up this Saturday that my metabolism will come back. Apparently restoring the leptin will bring back my metabolism.

If your fat and you know it don't eat carbs! *clap* *clap*

I got my body fat tested today and I was happy with my results.

I started my cut at 10.3% body fat with 16.7 pounds of fat. At the two week mark I am down to 9.5% body fat with 14.8 pounds of fat.

My goal was to lose two pounds of fat during this time and I will take these results... I had a couple surplus days when I was starting out (just to help ease into this diet), so these next two weeks I am planning on making the two pounds in two weeks goal.

I will be posting the pictures shortly!
