some weight lifting questions :)

1. I do full squats, and when i get up in weight my lower back rounds, but when i stick to lower weight, it is fine. is this normal? I can stil do higher weight, but it just rounds kinda bad, like 225, but 200 i can do 5 times really good. ??

2. sumo or conventional deadlifts?? i find when i do conventional(which i always do) my lower back rounds.... idk... i can get high numbers tho.. like 380 and such.

3. belt on squats and deadlifts? this guy that is my age deadlifts over 500 and squats almost 500 and hes a beast hes like really popular on t-nation and bodybuilding.com (damean) or something, he said im crazy if i dont use a belt on every weight with full squats and conventional deadlifts(which is what he said i should do, conventional and full, which i already do)

advice? thanks..:p

and 4. are lunges really good? I do them too.

Your back should definitely NOT round, especially if you are doing heavier loads.

I am personally against belts. They are a crutch and you need to learn how to make your muscles be your belts and wraps. You can actually develop pretty bad imbalances by using them to train too much. Same with wrapping the knees.

It's another thing altogether if you are only using them for competition or for max lifts. But based on your post here I'm assuming you are not a competitive power lifter, so I wouldn't even consider using a belt at all.

Lunges are great. The perfect exercise!
