Should I allow belts in the deadlift chart?

Should I allow belts in the DL charts? I've been thinking a lot about belts recently, and I'll be deadlifting on wednesday, and I think I'll use a belt. I work my abs pretty much every workout, I work lower intensity compounds every workout where I will not be using a belt. Is it really worth the rist getting a hernia or screw up your spine?

So I need to know what you guys think, should I allow belts or not?

The poll is public, so everyone can see what everyone voted. It's not like it's about ***** size or anything.. so it shouldn't matter :p

EDIT:
Oh.. and BTW: This is not a democracy, the outcome of this poll does not directly decide what I'll do, but I'll take it into consideration.

Im saying yes, why not, belts can provide more support and provide less risk in injuries. If you watch worlds strongest man, for the deadlift event, they all had belts :)

i have a question on belts. Do they help minimize the risk of a SMALL cave in the back. Close to my last set or so my back caves in just a little bit and that gives me small pains. So will this minimize that?

ah if they are allowed in the squat chart, then you might aswell allow them here.

chances are that attire allowed in unequipped powerlifting events should be allowed

Chalk and belts should probably be allowed. I voted "I don't care" because...I'm an asshole :)

But yeah you should allow that ish.

I think anything but suits and straps should be allowed. Cause maxing with straps is for losers.

I think everything should be done without assistance. Otherwise it feels like its not real you know? Like if I max 250 lets say I could have been like "if I used a belt I could have gotten 265".

I voted no. I'm somewhat biased because I don't believe in belts (let the lower back get stronger) or straps (let the wrist get stronger) or anything.

i dont use a belt because i dont feel like it adds anything to my lifts, and it doesnt mean just because you have it on your back is safe, which some people beleive and then there form goes out the door.
