They have no idea. Even the ones who think they know, are wrong. Just like us.
that's why you should never ask girls "what can I do to get this girl to like me?" You gotta ask men who you know have game. Most girls will reply something like "just be sweet, help her with thing.." basically, be a whipped bitch, but trust me, that doesn't work. You gotta be a man.
It depends a lot on the age group you are talking about. The older you get the more important certain things become.

Also, I think it depends on whether it is initial attraction, or longer term. Obviously, a lot of inital attraction is just how you look, carry yourself, act, whatever. When attraction becomes more of a mental thing, you gotta start busting out the small things. A girl will love you just by telling her certain things and doing small things. It's just hard to actually know what they are...hell, I have a whole lifetime, I'll learn eventually!!!

-Are flirty in a fun way and make them laugh.

-Have ambitions.
-Don't give in to everything they want.

-Don't try to be their 'best friend' or be too 'nice'

Physically for me, it's the arms & chest. never cared for the 6pack ab thing, actually rather my guy had a little stomach pouch, not a beer belly but something there. I remember dating a guy who was competing and his legs were so built, ugh, okay buddy keep your pants on was my thought.
