Question..Help :S

Ok well I go and work out at a gym everyday, I do cardio and I am trying to bulk up. My personal fitness instructor isnt that much help, just so ya know. Anyways he said my skin is kinda flabby, and I should tone myself out. I asked him what he ment, he said to get toned. I kept asking how and he would avoid the question.

So I hope one of you guys can help me, how can I get toned out or how can i get it so my skin isnt so...flabby? I just lost 35 pounds. =) Any tips"?

sounds like you should get a new instructor.

Are you talking about excess fat or excess skin?

Toning just refers to shedding body fat to show more muscle. If you have no muscle to show then you may have to bulk up for a while then lose the fat later. Other wise, you can keep eating a calorie deficit and working out until you reach your desired body fat level.

If it is excess skin, you may have to wait until your skin adapts to the new you, build muscle to stretch it out, or have surgery to remove it. However, considering you have only lost 35 pounds I very much doubt it is loose skin.

What are your stats?

What specifically are you doing for exercise?

Congrats on the weight loss so far.

I think that example typfies how unqualified personal trainers. There ARE better resources out there who know a hell of a lot more the PT's.

Yeah but you didnt change any muscle mass. If anything you would have lost muscle.

You should definatley change your trainer if they cant even help you with a simple question like that. Gain muscle = train hard and smart + calorie surplus

lol

Well I just got done talking to my cousin, shes a certified trainer. She said if I stretch, and do weird exercises that stretch out my skin and muscle. that my skin will get tighter

Whos she certified with because unless your description of what she said is a little out of whack she is blatantly wrong.

You stretch out the skin everytime you smile but still get smile lines. Its just not right.

.

no clue, but i am tired of these ****ty instructors. Because they tell me if I get my heart rate above 85%, that I will not only be burning fat, that I will also start to burn off muscle too. I keep getting told this :S, and I run for like 20 minutes non-stop, and I get my heart rate up to 90%.

How do you measure your heartrate because you have to take the values that the machines give you with a grain of salt. They arent always accurate.

Post some more information on your goals, current nutrition, current statistics and previous exercise history and Im sure someone will be able to help you out further.

Wow like i said, PT's get on my nerves...

That statement is grossly false and that itself should at least mean finding another person.

lol

tightening and firming. thats all what i need to know. what kind of excersises will tighten my muscles and give me the firmness im seeking lol. cardio?

I think if you have the confidence then you should post a picture to show people what you mean?

If you have excess bodyfat (which is what it sounds like) then you could do a FBW (with weights) three times a week and do cardio on the days in between, whilst eating a deficit of calories.

I doubt you mean excess skin, but you will need to post a pic or something or explain a little more. Starting weight training is the way to go either way anyway!
