Weigh Yourself Everyday Club

Tom, I like your greeting, and I am going to try and have that "great day" today! Misty, I also hope you feel better soon and get past that vaccine reaction. Do you think it was worthwhile despite the reaction? I know I am sure happy that I have my shots. Looks like you are down a little.

Not much new here.

Hey Rob! Was down for a day after I got Moderna and it just gave me aches in every part of my body including my fingers, it was weird. Thank you for asking =) I am glad I am double vaxxed haha

Gyms have finally opened here but masks still required indoors. I cannot wait to get back to normal minus the commute into work - whenever I find work.

I'm back and at 170 after the latest bout of bingeing. I know I need to keep posting here, it will help. I managed yesterday fine, without bingeing, hopefully today will go as well. But binge or not I know tracking my weight will help me.

Good to see you bouncing around the 250 mark Tom, I am sure you'll be solidly below soon.

Glad that you are recovering from the vaccine Misty, for me getting them really felt like a weight lifted off of my shoulders, hope it does for you too. I see that they are soon to start reopening our border, that is good news. Just seems so weird that we cannot freely move across it. Somehow Canada never really felt like another country to me, nothing like crossing the Mexican border or traveling elsewhere outside the US. This has changed my thinking a bit. Looking forward to getting back to more normal.

Hang in there. It is sooooo so easy to gain weight and binge. I want to all the time. I need to get up and move around and just don't want to. That's my prob. It is so hot, if I do anything at all, my clothes are drenched. I just don't want to do that all day every day. Still, if I am going to move forward then I need to move. I just don't have the motivation to do it. I should be able to lose weight without exercising. But moving keeps the water weight at bay or at least partially.

Keep posting. I need it! LOL. Purely selfish motive on my part.

That's great! I sometimes visit NY with my girlfriends over the summer and have done a few other US trips too, and missed the travel. So looking forward to the border opening for sure =) I binge now and then too, it's hard to avoid, but you've done such a good job so far with your weight Rob, sure you will get back on track. I do admit, it's disappointing when we get set back with those sorts of things and have to re-lose the weight but you're not too badly derailed from the 160s.

I want to get to 105lbs by Aug 1st but this will highly depend on how disciplined I am both with food and exercise. That is 2lbs per week. My aim for this week is to be down to 107lbs and I want to check out the gym also today.

CW: 109lbs

Thanks Tom and Misty, and I feeling a bit more back on track now. Tom you are so right about how easy it is to binge and regain, it just seems so natural... Easy to undo a lot of hard dieting in just a few days. You know we all depend on each other posting here, so I feel the same about you Misty and others. Hope you make your goal Misty, but 2 lbs/week seems pretty aggressive for someone of your size. I am down a bit this morning. I find that bingeing can add to my water weight even more than adding fat. That water seems to be going now.

It's really unfair how easy it is. If I had a ultimatum to lose 5 lbs or gain 50. I'd go with the gain 50. It's much easier. I'm curious with water weight, has it changed in anyway for you since you lost all of the weight or do you gain water weight just as easy. I've always wondered how my body would change or if it would if I got down to a normal weight.

Absolutely!!

I am not sure, I did not pay much attention to my weight before starting the diet. My weight loss, like everyone's, was in fits and spurts, rapid loss followed by plateaus, sometimes even gains. Now I think that was mostly due to the water weight variations. I am surprised how much my water weight varies, as much as 20 lbs sometimes and at my current weight that is about 10% of my body weight. Probably not all water, some of it has to do with how much solids are being retained in my digestive system, and since I eat a lot of low calorie veggie mass that is probably an important part of the ups and downs. I know from others here that my variation is more than normal, my internet research suggests an average person can expect about a 5 lb range.

lmao yeah it's way too aggressive. I think I'm going to say 2lbs by the end of the month. So aiming for 107lbs by the end of the month. Right now I am still at 109lbs. Feeling bloated today - maybe because I had too much salt yesterday....thanks Rob.

I tend to forget about the digestive track. I need to keep that in mind also. I found for me that sodium plays a big part so these days if I "cheat" I tend to go with low sodium foods. Eating a pizza will so wreck me over unless it's just a slice or two at the most. For me, this time seems to be much harder trying to lose weight than before.

I just go downhill with any junk food...but it's hard to avoid completely at events or those one-off binges. Definitely great if you can portion control but I find I don't have the discipline and need to avoid it all together.

A lot of times I don't have as much control over what I eat as I would like. Mainly, because of money. Sometimes, it's eating whatever the family has like tonight. My sister bought Fire House subs. I have a large tuna which is not even remotely that good health-wise. What I do is portion it out and only ate 1/4 of it, which coupled with everything else today didn't end up bad for my overall numbers. It is way high in sodium and fat, but what I eat is low in fat anyway and I didn't eat a lot today. I also mowed and I pour sweat. My shirt is turning white from sodium loss so getting back some extra doesn't ruin everything. So I try to work it in and days like this as long as I stay under my calories I call it a win. Tomorrow is another day.

There's not a lot of hope right now so I"m not sure why I am trying so hard to lose weight, but I am very focused. I guess I'm trying to look good in a casket lol.
