Cate's Diary

Marsia I was going to say a fit bit too . Or just get an old fashioned step counter that you can pop on your waist band .

Cate hope you are feeling better today. I like oranges too , I love the sound of the orange drink Marsia described. Sometimes I just squeeze an orange . Must buy some today .

Tiredness and the cold turn me to food in addition to emotional void . Sadly sweet things make me more tired . So let's try cut them out this week .
Thanks Petal, I think I will see about the Fit Bit or step counter!

Maybe you can make a pot of soup or a kettle of tea up so you can have something nice to sip on instead of the sugar? I try to find things that are soothing to eat that aren't fattening because I have a ways to go when it comes to just sitting down and feeling the feelings so they can be heard. It seems like they do go away once they are heard, but remembering to do that is hard when it is such a habit to ignore feelings and snack instead. And when feeling brain dead from being sick, even harder. Hope you feel better soon!

That's amazing how fast it adds up to 500 calories! Sometimes I have a low calorie breakfast and it just doesn't stick to my ribs, and I end up having second breakfast like Bilbo Baggins. By that time I am up to 500 calories already. I think you are doing amazing!
I think you may have missed that Cate was already on 327 cals before those little tidbits.

It was good to not struggle with a FD & to make myself eat something to bring my cals up a bit. I'm starting out my day fasting, due to the blood test, & have a FD soup, a boiled egg & a 75 cal yoghurt to take with me. I'll play it by ear whether I do a B2B FD. That would leave me the rest of the week free, until next Tuesday. It's an idea, but it will depend on hunger. I'm not hungry now.

I get crazy hungry after about 2 hours if I am eating 'well'. What is your blood test for? Sorry if you mentioned it before.

Just the annual cholesterol, electrolytes etc, plus thyroid function. I can't remember what they all are tbh.
I have eaten earlier than usual on a FD & had a tub of forme zero yoghurt & just ate a boiled egg. I'm sitting by the riverbank in town & may visit a friend who has just returned from 3 months away. I'll give her a call & see if she's busy. Actually I don't much feel like it. I'm quite happy just sitting here....

Hope you enjoyed the riverbank . I do thinks like that . Say I must make an effort visit someone to myself lol and then I don’t .

The cals in food really amaze me . I was looking at prepped sandwiches the other day but they do crazy I didn’t buy one . Must be all the dressings .

That's one of my favorite things to do is sit and watch the water flow by or the waves crash at the ocean. Hope you had a lovely, relaxing time!

Thanks, LaMa, Petal & Marsia. I did enjoy my river time. I rang my friend & just had a chat & said I knew how busy she would be catching up with her housework & she is going out in the afternoon after golf to catch up with us all. Win.
I got through my B2B fasting days & have lost another 1/2 a kilo. Yay! Now, I won't get on the scales again until my 2nd next fast.
Day 5 without any wine at all :D
I'm about to head to golf. It's a wild & windy day, but I'm going. All that exercise & no wine & not overeating should help. I'm feeling good, even though I didn't get a great night's sleep. Be back later xoxo

Wonderful you are starting to see results!!! Glad you got some quality you-time in, too!

I can't imagine trying to hit a little white ball in the middle of wind and weather. Hope it goes well!!

Delighted to see that Cate . Half a kilo is a good achievement . Hope now it rubs off on us all . Lol
Hope the golf went well . I got up 10 mins early and did my mini warm up walk . It helps greatly to get the step count moving for the day .

Sleep better tonight x

Thanks, Lucy. I have had a really good few days & enjoyed my golf day & all the socialising afterwards(alcohol-free for me).
Thanks, Marsia. It was such a relief to see those scales go down at last! Hitting that little white ball in conditions like yesterday was tough I must admit. I had a lovely day, but my golf was atrocious overall. There were some good shots in amongst the bad, but oh dear- it was my worst score for aaages. At least I got around the 18 holes. 3 pulled out. It was squally & the wind almost blew me over at one stage.
Thanks, Petal. I had told G that if I hadn't lost half a kilo they would hear me screaming 10 km away. I won't risk getting on the scales again until the end of next week. I slept a bit better last night but woke at least 3 times to go to the bathroom. I am obviously well hydrated.
Thanks, Em. I really do think that the wine was holding me back. After this week there will be major changes.
Thanks, Jen. I love having you back again :) We have a great support group here.
Imagine a meet-up. Through this forum, I feel that I have friends all over the world & I would love to meet you all. I would have to go to Vienna(or Venice, LaMa xo), the US (again), Ireland, Greece (Jess-an ex-forum friend who I stay in touch with), the UK (Kate-another ex-forum friend), Q'Land.....

I hurt like crazy yesterday playing golf. The day before I carted some wood into the clubhouse & my knee gave way & yesterday it really hurt. I was determined to finish my game though as it was a sponsor day & there were not many playing & it's embarrassing when that happens. There just aren't that many women playing any more. My golf was so inconsistent, but I had fun anyway. I needed painkillers halfway through.

Today is day 6 without any wine at all :)
Yesterday-

Do you have a knee brace or ace bandage you could wrap around your knee to protect it while it recovers?

Glad you had fun out on the golf range getting blown around by the wind. Sounds fun, actually! Except for the logs doing you in again. Gotta watch those pesky logs!

That would be so fun to meet you all, too!

No, but I may just buy one tomorrow.

I really have to stop carrying things too heavy for me. I shouldn't have to learn the hard way!

I have met 2 women from the forum over the years & really liked them. One visited me here in Tassie, the other I met up with in Melbourne.
G & I still have not decided 100% on our next holiday, but have decided against Canada/Alaska as I just wasn't getting excited about it. We are leaning towards-
Venice for a few days, then Bologna (in the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy). then Athens & a little of mainland Greece & then some Greek Islands. I am hoping to catch up with 2 forum friends(1 not current) if we do that. This trip excites me! I'll now try to work out how we'll do it. I want to stay on some Greek Islands, rather than just flit from one to one. G's birthday is in November & next year is a major one. It would also give me plenty of time to plan & to lose more weight & to stretch out the anticipation :)

Well done on no wine and losing half a kilo! Remember you weighed after a double fast though, so your guts would have been more empty than normal (I know I´m a downer). How are you getting on with your exercises? Maybe next time you can get some specific knee stuff from your therapist? The world needs you as healthy as you can be!
